Thinking about NOS for my apex.. Have questions..

:nos I have an 03 rx1 and I would put my CB Performance nitrous system up against any other brand. It is a wet system and we run 140 hp shot!
 

Is there any disadvantage to running a wet system like the CB system, other than more complex installation and bottle heater? I also am considering gas for next year, I don't mind rolling up my shirt sleeves to install it, the bottle heater isn't that big a deal, but I do want to limit myself to 93 pump gas. 40-50 lb shot will do it for me.
 
No disadvantage.

I've done both NX and N.O.S. If the truth is to be known you could actually use these kits without a bottleheater you would just have to use a bigger jet and a pressure regulator for the colder bottle pressures.

The problem with using a reg is you don't get pure liquid N2O. When N2O goes through the reg some of the N2O is flashed to a gas and depending on the bottle temp and pressure you will get more or less liquid causing inconsistent performance.

That's why I prefer a heater and I run my N2O at a higher bottle pressure so no matter what the temp is outside the bottle pressure stays the same and you don't run the N2O through reg.

Pure liquid N2O at the nozzle means consistent power.
 
I ran an external gas tank on the trail for the nitrouse with 110 octane fuel, that only was used when on the nitrouse system. Worked good. i still have the tank and would be willing to sell it because my sled is now set up for racing only
 
Plus 1 for the CBperf nitrous system, best thing about that system BIG power on 87 octane (because it comes with the aux tank for 114 and takes over 4 bottle before needing a refill)

I run a 80hp shot and its barely getting warmed up. Downfall to this big a shot is that it adds 1000 rpm and off the bottle it can feel a little sluggish at times, not horrible just more like a 600-700 vs a 800-900.
 
CB performance seems to be similar to big thunger small tank for race gas and spray it wet with n20. Awesome setup.

CB performance uses NX powersports kits that they apapt to specific applications. I called them before I bought my NX kit and they were going to make a manifold to put the nozzles in because they said there was no room on the Apex. They also couldn't use the the stock airbox. I was able to fit the nozzles into the stock throttle bodies and use the stock airbox. The sled looks totally stock except for the nitrous pressure and fuel pressure guages that I installed on the handle bar clamps. As long as I have 8-900 psi nitrous pressure and 5 psi fuel pressure the system works just fine, no screwing around with fuel system control boxes to get proper air fuel ratios. NX has been building nitrous systems for 20 years or so and their kits are top notch in my oppinion.
