I was going to sell my 08 apex ltx but the sled never has given me any trouble. So I was looking at extending the rails to a 144 or 151.Has any tried the 151" rail extension and if so how does the mono skid hold up and do in the powder?Does anyone make a tip up for a 136-151 ext and do I need extro drivers if I go to a 151?Any pictures of a sled with a 151" ext done?

If you push it out to 151" I would fine a diff skid, the mono would have a hard time with. It will be fine with 144" I have it done to my 06rtx and love it.
Would a zx2 lesson the attack angle if I went with it in a 144, because I would like to run a 1.75 backcountry.

Im not sure about the zx2, but you could setback your 136" skid to get to 144". This will give you a better attack angle then most MTN sleds.

What about adding 4 inch extensions and setting back 3.5 inches, or vice versa. Also could move down .5 - .75 inch. Has anybody tried this? I could start another post, but this sounds very consistent with what the OP is asking.

You would be impressed at the difference a set back makes for off trail riding. I have a 136" Expert X set back 3.5" with cobra 144" very capable sled on and off trail. If you stay with the mono, it's been said many times before me you"ll want extrovert drivers. Especially if you have a 1.75. Getting an 8 tooth extro would also assist with any clearence issues up front with the heat exchanger. You may even be able to round up to a 2" paddle with the smaller driver. then if you don't like it and want the 151" buy the extensions and track.

X2 I could not think of a better way to offer advice on extending a sled. I love my 151 convert, but if I was to start all over again, this is the route I would choose. Keep in mind that track options are limited once you get to 151 and beyond.
If I set the skid back 4 inches to make it a 144 how much do I drop the skid down?I have a muffinworks 136-144 tunnel extension to put on with it.

It been said by others to drop the mono skid down 3/4". I don't know the reason for this. I have an Expert X skid. In the instructions it says to lower the suspension when changing to a smaller size driver to keep the track at the same plain. I'm switching to an 8 tooth driver this year. That driver is 3/4" smaller dia. Which half is 3/8". So I've lowered my skid 3/8".

You drop it 3/4" it keeos the hole inline from the old ones. I used a 144" tunnel from Hartmann.
