Thinking of studding, i have no clue about this..any input?

I feel studs work great for me both on acceleration and stopping under certain conditions. Conditions arent always perfect and are guaranteed to be different throughout any day of riding and season long. The ripsaw does fine under most conditions, but the times I need the studs I am greatfull that I have them. As for stud length I believe 1.325 is recommended by most verdors. Taller will get better hook up but you may find that it contributes to pull out from over deflection. Grab that 1.325 lug and flex it. Now imagine the weight of you and the machine wrenching 150 hp at them. They bend and allow that stud to do its job! Some pull outs can be attributed to an unlucky holeshot on that buried object that you unfortumately ran up against also. Keep em tight like Scmeg said and stud it!

I generally ride hilly areas through the woods. Seems like our BS winters are creating many icy problems because we get snow :jump: and then after a while it's 50 degrees out :o| .

The ice on the relatively steep hills are a nightmare without studs. I got a used Rage that came studded which my GF rides and she'd follow me on my not-yet-studded Vector and I was always panicked about losing it down hills and didn't know if I'd make it up the hills and start a backslide. I made sure to ask her to stay a ways back, "just in case." Thankfully I nursed it along evenly and didn't have any incidents, but I'm getting to work this summer!

I ride an 06 attak with 136" track 219 1.625 studboy studs never had a problem hitting so go with the 1.450's you may need to clutch because when you hookup it will fall on it's face.

i run 168 using 1.325 and i like it so far but only got one ride on them this last season. there is going to be some adjustments in the way i ride im use to it siding into corners. now i dont think it will do that any more. if you do alot of ice riding stud it, i was fine on trails with just a plain track but hard to controll when on the lake. :yam:
