Thinking of dropping in a Bender Stage II on my 03 `121", New England at 1,500 FT elevation.
Please give me your honest input on the 3 most surprises encountered during installatiion.
Any feed back good or bad is very welcome.
I've heard of the issues with the carb T fittings and recently the pilot tube fitting.
I'm OK with the mixing of fuel at different boost settings.
How about trail riding at low boost 150-200 miles a day??
Did the stock track handle the power?
Is 6-8 hours realistic for install?
2 guys that know their way around a sled.
I'm sick of throwing $$ at sleds and then regretting it as the performance didn't turn out the way advertised.
I don't mind tuning, I just want to make sure this thing stays running well.

Turbo................
ok -The track will ratchet without extrovert drivers other than that no other problems
8- 12 hrs for first install I'd say
Patience is required to set up jetting ,but no big deal
No real surprises , Bender kit has good instructions , real easy to follow

BOOST=POWER

I installed a CPR on my 03, not to bad of a job. The power is hard to explain besides awesome. Hopefully I can make it for the shootout.

Hauller............ Which do you like better, Bender or CPR??

Ad Blue...... nice to hear from you. Do you have any concerns over the front mount turbo? IE .. heat under the hood. What about the lost of fuel capacity??
How long to install? Hope you can make it in January.

RXHALLER..... looking for some straight talk on the mountain turbo..... is the rx1 the wrong platform for deep snow mountain fun..... i am not one to hi mark a hill,,, yet i do not want to get stuck all the time as well..... how would you rate your turbo mountain sled.....

Its just what you 'd expect .......It'll climb as far as you'd ever dare go ......won't get stuck as long as you have momentum......will pull the ski up all the way up any hill ....a blast ......But it likes big wide open spaces ........Its not good for places w/ hilly terrain with trees .......just my experience

........cpr kit is more fun (no Lag )....both kits are great though

RXHALLER...........Thanks for your opinion.
Am I crazy to think that the slight lag might just help a little off the line? Traction!!
I'm a flat lander in New England that spends most of the time running the lake.
I currently have few trackion issues as I'm studded with 216 Chizels @ 1.205"
It hooks up "very well".
The extra turbo power is going to create issues with traction and track ratcheting. I want to run the stock track this year so extroverts are not going to work. Every 3rd window is closed.
How much real lag are we talking here?
Bender is real close to my sales terriitory and has been very helpful so far. They've offered a tour of the shop and guidance installing the turbo.
SIMONS has also been helpful but I'm concerned about the loss of fuel capacity and under hood heat.
Turbo soon!
Thanks for the help.

Don't be concerned about the loss of fuel capacity. I cosistently get over 125 miles out of a tank and have yet to run out. I have been over 135 a few times. The install on the front mount is more time and work, but worth it. Lowering the engagement will help some with traction. The key is proper studding. Either way you go will be fun. Just don't expect to beat a front mount in a drag race, if you go with a rear mount.

One more thing. Give Greg a call at Northeast Turbos. He is only 2 hours away from you. His new kit is well thought out. It doesn't hurt to explore all options.

Otis, Good to hear you are still on the market for a turbo... You have some good questions here and if you are concerned about CPR being in WI you have a great reference/support here in Rochester, NY... Plus I'll even come out and help you beat up on Tyler a little bit...

Give me a call if you want to chat about the CPR Turbo more... I should have a better understanding on mileage in a couple of days with the CPR Turbo...

Thanks,

I ride Maine and Canada and low boost is great for those 2 to 3 hundred mile days. The turbo clutching actually reduces RPMs at typical Canadian trail speeds ;)! This sled is a blast to ride on those big trails. I only wish that she wasn't so friggen loud. ;)! ;)! PS Dump the stock track

I simply cut the closed windows out and put in extroverts .........ratchet real bad w/ stock track. .......takes a 1 " wood chisel .....and a 1& 1/2" wood chisel.

You are going to have to install extroverts. You will NOT be disapointed in the performance. It took me 7-8 hours to install mine, and I did it by myself. Don't rush though. Take your time and do it right.
