Hi all, for the Tcat guys here…can anyone confirm if the belts from 2017-2019 Thundercat/ZR9000’s are interchangeable? The part numbers are different, but I’m not aware of clutching changes between the 17-19 model years….thanks in advance.

Different part numbers because supposedly the rubber compounds are slightly different. The 627-104 belt is slightly softer than 627-112 but hard to detect in the field.
Also, Timken XS-827 belt (which cross-references to only 2017 TCats) is 45-1/16" x 1.50". The XS-829 belt (2018 & newer TCats) is 44-15/16" x 1.50" (slightly shorter).
I've tried both and prefer 827 because it is softer and grips clutches better.
IMO, XS is the ONLY belt that will stand punishment. Cat belts I could destroy at will. Tried Dayco XTX (way too hard - belt slip). Tried Gates GForce and carbon fiber. NFG! They would shred easily.

Thanks Turboflash! On my sidewinder, the XS was the only belts that would survive as well. The Tcat is a new build, and broke the 112 belt in half. I’ve ordered XS829’s, but delivery won’t be in time for Saturday’s race. I’m scrambling for a spare!

Are either a direct replacement for the stock belts?

Yes, 829 grips better, the other hard compound, one’s slightly longer.
