My Apex is a 2010 so it has the mono II rear skid and the stock slides last pretty well. I can get 1500 miles out of a set easily. I can get stock OEM slides shipped for $45. Or a set of DuPont slides for $140. I can buy 3 sets of OEM slides for the price of one set of DuPont slides. Is it worth it to buy the DuPont slides?

I think they are worth it. Install them and forget about them. Then you won't have to change slides every 1500 miles.

They are better, but they fail eventually also, as the vespel inserts fall out in time. If you don't have a set of cable-type scratchers for those days when loose snow is lacking, that is what I would do first.

I have had them on my sled for 3 and a half seasons. They will out last a track. I installed them on the original track and one replacement track and now on my 2nd replacement track. Maybe 10000 to 11000 miles. Shows almost no wear.

i can say it is all in suspension adjustment/wheels. burnt through stock plastic on the 11 at 2500 km. put oversize wheels on it and the next set of cheap kimpex slides made 15000 km before i replaced them. just did them again at 27000 km and put duponts on it this time as it was track replacement time and the 1-1/2" track was cheaper than the stock 1-1/4". as the gf now rides it more than i do, i did not want the hassle of having to check it all the time and i know they will last more than a full season with no problem.

I have them on all 3 of my sleds, including my Apex with an M20 Airwave in it. Don't worry one minute about slider wear anymore. IMHO, well worth the investment.

31000kms on mine and still good at 12mm

with stock slides I could get 2 years 4000 kms out of them with larger wheels installed too

Dupont have been on 4 years 8000 kms and still look good. I have lost a few of the insert though

Less maintenance and the don't smell like running plastic when running down glare ice

If you are keeping the sled for awhile then the dupont are worth the money. Conditions anymore here east yield some slide eating days and the duponts wear like iron. Tested several years ago with my father who had dupons and I didn't. Conditions were so bizarre that there was just enough dust to keep cool, but I was on my 3rd set by end of weekend and the duponts on my fathers sled were not even phased by the conditions. Most bizarre slide wear I had ever seen....but opened my eyes to just how well the duponts wear.

Put scratchers on my Nytro last year, close to 3 thousand mi, wifes apex right aroud 2 thousand an still going on both. Regular slides. Sorry bout crappy pics.

About the easiest question to answer on here, yes they're worth it

Dupont totally worth it, on my second set over 16,000 miles or 26,000 km, track wore out before the sliders last year on 2013 Apex, put new ones on still have the old ones for back up. but are close to worn out.

After watching the Netflix documentary "The Devil We Know", I personally will not give Dupont another dime. Not knowingly anyway

I just switched to Duponts this season to give them a try. I have put 1000 miles on them with varying degrees of trail conditions and overall am very pleased with them. I can't say this for sure but it sure seems like the sled rolls easier up to the stop signs. I mean I really don't recall it coasting like that with my old slides (might be just in my head but I don't think so). I personally can't stand that sluggish feeling when the slides start melting or for that matter the burning plastic smell. I have not experienced that with the duponts and I know I would have several times given the minimal snow conditions. I recommend them and will be changing the rest of the sleds over to Duponts when the stock ones wear out.
