Stock xtx rear cheapee fatigues way to fast in the rough stuff. Bought a used GYTR? one, rebuild and valved.
Do you have to pull skid to change that one guys?
No but for me I always do since its a pain taking in and out and good time to go over skid.

Thanks c27.
Luckily it's easy to pull skid, I just don't have luck with those pesky front bolt bushings. Break one almost everytime I pull.
I may just rnr shock with skid in.

YEP.......Pull it and change it out, as well as give it a good cleaning, greasing, check sliders and the Ole Once Over. Wont take long and you will have peace of mind knowing what you got under there

which rear torsion springs does the XTX come with, if it has the MTX 1700nm springs then be mindful that the shock may have too much rebound damping and cause the shock to "pack up" on extended sets of bumps.

Pretty good with lifting and checking play. Grease every third ride and check for side to side play. New duponts going in shortly, just haven't had the chance yet. 6500k on the old ones so not too bad considering conditions start of last winters hen I bought the sled. Did a couple "playing in the pits" days as well.YEP.......Pull it and change it out, as well as give it a good cleaning, greasing, check sliders and the Ole Once Over. I'm going to have to dig into that, something tells me it is the 1700 and I was going to swap the 2500's from the 07 but never did. I'm pretty good at feeling what's going on and I always set my rebound first and work my comp after. Never go the last 2 clicks on rebound unless you want to feel "pack up" to the max.which rear torsion springs does the XTX come with, if it has the MTX 1700nm springs then be mindful that the shock may have too much rebound damping and cause the shock to "pack up" on extended sets of bumps.
Good call tho Blue

Skid pops out so easy, and not sure why you are breaking the front bolt bushings? I use an electric impact and have never busted any bolt/nut/bushing on the phazer.
You should like that shock. I talked to a Canadian shock rebuilder, and he said the gytr shocks are GREAT, but Yam is out to lunch on how to valve them.

I remember reading somewhere, can't find it right now but there was a recommendation when stretching a 121 to a 136 to go with the GT springs which I think we're between the two rates you referenced.

It's no3. The plastic nylon one. Seems every time I slid it in I catch that and it breaks easy.
Voda, I may try things as is for now. See how it is. She's bone chilling cold so I may wait till Sunday. Fair weather rider this week lol.
