I have a bone stock 05 Vector with 4000 miles, belt has about 2000miles on and 144 studs. On aloose groomed trail from dead stop will pull 8400-8500 and then in about a mile will kreep up to 8900 RPM. Is this normal or what could be done to lower it? If the motor is OK at running that RPM I wont worry about it.

I want to say that about 8200-8500 or so is good. These 4 strokes are a little more forgiving than the 2 strokes. I have my 05 Rage running right about 8400 and that seems great to me. If you have adjustable weights, throw a little more weight at the tip, that should give you what you are looking for, but it might bump up your engagement 100-200 rpms. If your wieghts are not adjustable, you might be grinding off the rivets and replacing them with the appropriate ones. Beware they are easy to crack.

8600 is where you want it to run.it's not going to hurt it running that high but your probaly getting wort gas milage. The beldt is probaly worn too much I bet if youy put an ew one on the rpm's come down.

I have been smelling my belt a lot at real slow speed and does look pretty shiney, has about 2700 miles on it. I did pick up a new belt and will let you know where its at after. Did clean both clutches and I saw i am definately not blowing out my primary often enough.
