What trails are you riding? with the recent winds we had in northern saskatchewan, I would carry a saw to cut any fallen trees. Plus a good set of scratchers for the icy trails that we've been blessed with lately.

Day 1- denare beach to Swan River
Day 2- swan river to yorkton
Day 3- yorkton to esterhazy
Day 4- esterhazy to swan river
Day 5- swan river to denare beach
The only long stretch in the remote area will be day 1 & 5. We will be following the power line so there is a road close by but it is still in the middle of nowhere. The other days will be ok.
And yes it has been quite windy and a saw is a great idea. Going to check on snow conditions further south to make sure they are rideable. Already got the scratchers.
Where abouts are you from in northern sask.

I carry all the above and a bunch of extra bolts and nuts. And I have a extra carbide strapped to my running boards in the back. Stays there all the time. I've bent them before on long trips.

I also carried (when I rode a Yamaha, 1200 now.) a extra drive bearing. I ride with all Apex's and although I took very good care of mine and knew the drive bearing would never go...not so much with the others. Sure enough, last year we had one go. Unfortunatly I was on my Doo and did not carry one any more.

Sled dog how are trails down your way. Are they groomed yet. We will be coming through swan and the through the duck mountains to kamsack then down to yorkton. Unless you know of a better route

That sucks. I just took for granted that there was snow everywhere because we keep getting it. We must have 4 feet already. The most we've had in Years.

Just get south of melfort, maybe 20 minutes and the snow gets crappy. What about going to hudson bay and west on the transcanada trail Through the forestry and eventually end up in the narrow hills park or even candle lake.

Well we finally got some snow. Not really that much though, there's enough barely. That would be the way to go you can get gas in Kamsack and then Yorkton not sure if there is gas at Rhein I think they have a coop card lock there. There is a really good dealer in Yorkton called Schraders if you need something. Their number is 306-783-3333.

Since Yamaha is so stupid that they made is so you need a hex key to check the oil level on my snowmobile I took a small double L shaped hex key and put it in a vise and beat it with a hammer.

So this is my tool tip to take with on a trip, a hex key that fits on the key ring together with the snowmobile key. Then it is not needed to get in to the toolbag to get a hex key to remove the side cover.

My buddies quit carrying things because they knew I carried it all.

Me too, and let me guess, it's always your buddies that need to use the tools that you carry!

I also carry spare fuses if nobody has mentioned it.
