We'll see what happens as I get some more miles on the engine. Hopefully it will continue to get faster. Not sure how much more I will be able to get out of it though.
Your xtx should be faster than that. My 09 will consistently hit 109 on the speedo and occasionally 112. Soft or mushy conditions will kill top end and I will be lucky to see 100.

I see 91-92 with my MTX (20/40 gearing and a 153" track)

I'm probably about 215-220 with gear on, then add 25lbs of ice so say ~250lbs of rider and almost a full tank of gas the best i have seen on the lake so far is 107 on the speedo so maybe 103 outta my XTX , haven't done any runs yet with the slip-on and k&ns yet. Very poor conditions riding this last weekend. Got 2200 miles on her now, last run was around 1100 miles, hopefully shes losened up a bit

I've seen 113 with two speed heel clickers and 110 with Drag and flys. I'm over reving the Drag and flys my guess is a perfect setup drag and fly would show 113 as well. the stock weights show about 4 MPH more then the Drag and fly so my sled would should about 117 with the stock weights

You've tested this about the stock weights?

Why the difference in top speed between the heel clickers vs D&F?

My 08 RTX hit 103 on speedo on a packed snow trail in the U.P. Temps were near 40 degrees this weekend. It still had a little maybe but it was climbing slow after 100.

Well billymx815, the Heel Clickers Two Speed and the Heel Clickers Drag and Fly are two different weight design.

Yes the stock weights were 4 MPH faster on top.

Best speed seen so far this year was 105 on a hard pack trail. I am sure it would be faster on ice with a touch of snow on top, ideal conditions. Had Ulmer clutch kit in.
Ran radar runs this past weekend in Paradise at their Mardy Gras. Not the best conditions at all for speed. They were run on a soft snow trail that was groomed every so many runs, approx 37 deg sunny day. Not sure of the distance. It looked like 660 feet.
With ulmer clutch kit ran 83 mph on radar, my speedo was reading 90 mph. With D&F weights ran 79 mph, speedo was reading 86 mph.
Other sleds that day.
Another XTX ran 84 but he was a smaller guy and he had large aluminum wheels in the rear axle in the middle only, no out side wheels.
2007 Attak ran 89 mph
2006 Attak ran 90 mph
600 Dragon ran 74 mph
800 Dragon ran 86 mph
Modded F1000 cross fire ran 92 mph.
2007 600 SDI Rev X short track ran 80 mph.

Seems like the stock weights are difficult to beat for top end. Has anyone tried running the stock setup with a multiangle helix such as 48/42 to improve upshift gaining accelertation without sacrificing top end?

Tried my Ulmer helix G (apex kit) with good results with same top end, 113 mph on speedo hard pack trail with better hole shot and tried stock apex 51/43 with similer results. I guess 48/42 or 49r43 would be a good choice....BADSLED said:Seems like the stock weights are difficult to beat for top end.
