I put a gold-finger on the left and I constantly see the code 84, especially in the tight trails. I put a tether on and I am thinking about bypassing the tors, a little nervous about taking out this safety mechanism on a 300 hp machine. Thoughts??

I know where you are coming from, try to keep it working. Mine was coming on when it shouldn't on the turns also, and I found that it was the throttle cable where it goes in to the thumb part. You pull on it and it seems spring loaded and pulls back toward the thumb. I thought mine was in but it kept acting up then on time I pushed in on it harder and it kind of clicked or snapped in and now it is fine.

I believe everything is in the proper location. It seems that the left hand throttle causes the the right hand throttle to be out of place just enough while feathering to bring up the code. I might be able to find a "sweet spot" by loosening/tightening the linkage. I hear of people disabling the tors all together. Just wondering if I'm playing russian roullette by doing this.

If you have installed a tether and use it I wouldn't have a problem with bypassing the TORS.

I try to keep my TORS in tact..till it gives me fits if it ever does then I may go tether and by pass it. You would have to be religous on using the tether though.

X2 on what kinger said. I have both types of tether switches already on the shelf, one normally closed and the other normally open, bought them both as I could not remember which one to use LOL
So far I've had no need to bypass the TORS on my sled.
