And just because this is fun for me...
A better experiment would be to run one side with flat clips and one side with ribbed. Then you'll have empirical baseline data to use for the comparison.
You might even prove me wrong.

My 09' Phazer clips have slots in the clip. so it has the same idea. Just another way to skin the cat.

The clips with holes are promoted to provide weight reduction. I've read of people complaing about these eating hyfax. I haven't noticed that on my Phazer, but I can see where a rock or sand filled hole would raise hell on the hyfax.
