I want to try fully clipping my track this year, its the stock maveric and Id like to see if it will improve slide life since I ride mine mostly on trails. Right now I got every third window clipped with the clips with the 4 holes in them. I wanna know how many more clips I need and what kind should I get the holy ones to keep snow in them to help lubrication or just the solid ones. Opinions welcome!
Thanks

I'll let you know about slide wear when we get some snow. My Freeride is clipped every hole. My stock maverick differs from yours, mine is clipped every 3rd but are 2 oval holes, not the 4 oval hole kind like my freeride has.

I also thought about fully clipping my 121". I think that the holes in the stock clips do more harm than good. I bet they trap as much dirt and rock as they do snow. But I could be wrong.

to help with my slid wair i added 2 extra sets of wheels and used the bigger skidoo wheels. Ive had the same slids on for 2500 miles and they still look good!!!

My sled has a mt tamer rear skid, and has a bunch of wheels, but Ive been told before that clipping the track will help out considerably, but trailriding a 2" track is gona fry slides almost no matter what. I had my last mt lite doing pretty good but never fully cliped the track. Added wheels, cut the track down ,and even added scratchers on the back of my skis so fully cliping the track is about my last thing to prolong my slide life I can think of.

Come to think of it on my previous sled, A SX600R, I installed a Ripsaw that was only clipped every 3rd and didn't have any issues with excessive slide wear. I installed that track at 800 miles and installed new slides at that time because they were shot and it had just over 4000 miles on it when I traded it in without ever changing the slides again. I remember at that time around 2002-2003 that the thinking was that closes holes actually helped keep snow in the track thus better lubrication. The pro-action skid was known to eat slides also but I never had issues. I know my first set were GONE at 300 miles on my MTX but the second set with the extra wheel kit I built have about 500 miles on them and still look great.
