What length track do you prefer?

if you vote could you please comment on why you voted the way you did?
please no bashing other peoples opinion of why they chose what they chose? its all in good fun. so lets have some fun!

I vote 141-144 because I feel the smaller tracks are not as stable at high speeds and dont ride the mountians as well... and anything larger to me it feels like im riding on a stretch limo in tight traffic.

X2!! Voted same way as you did and I share your opinion.

Same here.... crosscountry running.. and shorties have that 85mph+ arse twitch... dont get me wrong, i have 2 shorties, but even the wife likes to drive the longer tracked sleds.... just more stable.

144 just let's you do so much more with the sled, especially with tipped up rails. Ride the trails easily, yet play in the powder as well. Any shorter you lose deep snow ability, and any longer gets tough on the trails.

A lot depends on the type of riding you do...

A guy who likes to ride tight twisty trails, is gonna want a shorter 121" track.

A touring type guy who likes to cover a ton of miles at a moderate pace will likely want a 136" for comfort.

A guy who does a 50/50 mix of trails and off trail will likely go 144".

Those of us that tend to ride mainly off trail (or like to look like they do) go even longer....

I personally run a 151" 1.5" crossover...but that is because I weigh close to 300# (with gear), and need the extra flotation to carry my fat a$$.

I think a 144" is probably the most versatile.

x10 no drawbacks on trail, works well in moderate deep snow. Only time it is not enough is really deep stuff, or mountain climbing. I have 136 attak and 144 apex xtx. 144 is better at everything for Midwest type riding.

I do zero off trail, not my thing so I don't need a 144" or 136". I have an 08 Nytro RTX...and while alot of guys don't like the twitchiness or find them unstable at high speed...I don't really have that issue..lucky I guess. I would like to try Star Suspensions 128" relocate kit. I heard from another member on here who relocated his skid back and installed a 128" and said it made a world of difference....no extension required. Plus it also changes the approach angle so maybe more topend and less trenching for the odd time I do venture off trail

Agreed, if I was Mt riding I would go 152" or more, but the 136"-144" works great in the mid-west IMO. Went to a 136" back in '04 and haven't looked at a short track since.

136" is the one. 121" lacks cornering ability because it slides out too easily, twitches at speed, and the tunnel ends at the seat leaving no spot for stuff. 151" is a nice longer length and allows good traction with a short lug for less slider wear. 144" offers nothing that can not be done just as well with a 136 or 151 and the fad pitches of other than 2.52" should just go away.

Where we ride a 162 is the only way to go in the early season riding when the snow is the "dry" powder.

The floatation difference is worth it. Even the guys that I ride with that have lighter 2 strokes buy the 162's and 163's.

My vote is for the 121". Have both 136" and the 121". I only ride on trail, with pretty much a 50/50 mix of tight and twisty and full throttle flat lands. With a studded track and SnowTracker carbides, my 121" handles like it's on rails and no twitchiness and high speeds.. The 136" works great in a straight line, very tiring in the twisties. I'd love to try a 128" track, I think it would be ideal for the type of riding that I do.
