2017 Viper XTX - no studs - 141 - aggressive rider.
Stock Ski’s with Everlaster runners, they are made by Snowtracker. Not the Snowtracker system just they’re 8” carbide runners.
Made a huge difference over stock runners. Stock was 4/10 new runners 8/10.

Pilot 5.7 and aggresive model Snow Trackers. Does everything I want and nothing I don't want! I love this set up but admit it is the only setup I have rode on my SW.

For those running curves, what's the trick? I can't get them to work for me at all. But they seem to be the current winner in aftermarket skis.

For me they steer way too hard. And if I lighten up the ski pressure, they become unpredictable.

Try a set of 6" slim jims carbides

2017 XTX 141 no studs, aggressive trail Pilot 6.9 with 6 inch carbide in the middle and same on the outside. handling is excellent, turns well and tracks strait as an arrow. tried big carbide on tuners steering was harder but sled would still push bad. very risky driving into corners with speed. I have Hygear Pro Linkage and Custom Axis shocks all the way around and THE suspension is set perfect, no suspension adj. will make the tuners work. i wasted money and time with the tuners. THERE IS NO WAY SOMEONE FROM YAMAHA CAN TEST A SIDEWINDER WITH TUNERS, PUT SOME HARD TRAIL MILES ON AND CONCLUDE THE SKIS ARE WORKING GREAT!!!!

Take out the curve rubbers out and put stock ones back on and run 6 inch carbides with round host bar any make. Makes all the difference in the world! Sled will rail!

Has anyone swapped their tuners for a set of yamaha mountain skis? Is so how do they perform? On trail?

I've asked this several times on here with basically no response. The Yamaha reps at the Toronto Show said that's what they run instead of Tuners.

If you have had no response then I would guess not many have tried that. Go be the first. I have heard they work but why not just go with whats been proven to work.

Hey I have run '16 Viper MTX skis from day one. I ran shapers, then semi-agressive snowtrackers, then agressive snowtrackers. The steering effort is power steering light but not enough ski bite. So far MTX with semi-agressive is preferred by me. When I added aggressive snow trackers it seemed all I got was more steering effort and darting. My opinion is the MTX skis are not bad, but I am looking for less understeer (more ski bite and turning precision) without heavy steering. I think the fat keel of the MTX ski causes both too little ski bite AND very easy steering. The flotation is definitely enough.

I will be trying CA PRO MTX skis with 6" shapers next time up to ride (early March).
