I have 9 tooth drivers and a not fully clipped cobra track (every 4th) studded up the middle and I can still get the track to ratchet.... I really could use some info on running maybe different drivers and a fully clipped track would help?? Also suggestions on tracks... my cobra is too soft and delaminating and it only has 600 miles on it.
Could I go to 8 tooth anti ratchets and gear it back up?? this would allow more rap on the drivers??

What I would suggest is the same track I installed in my Warrior, Camoplast Ripsaw Predrilled for studs is a Heavy duty version of the Production Ripsaw, fully clipped, Very Tough track.
Go with 9 tooth extrovert (Antiratchet) drivers you actually lose contact going with smaller drivers.
Whal and Avid, and Mountian Performance offer them.
I have 1 set of Doo Drivers left in stock, then I think they are no longer available.
Ted.
Tom....get some 9 tooth Extrovert and a fully clipped track. Do not go with 8 tooth it will not help at all.

I have extrovert whal drivers but the track is not fully clipped.... and it still ratchets bad.... I had to take 1/4 off the tips of the extroverts to clear the Air Wave.....
fully clipped will help a lot?? or Maybe just some better drivers.
Ted are the doo drivers that good?? Also leaning towards the RipSaw Pre drilled....

The Clips are what the drivers push against.
If the Whal drivers have to be cut then the Doo drivers would have to be cut also so no advantage.
I am going to guess your running a FAST suspension, this is the primary problem they do not allow enough wrap around the drivers, the track goes almost straight down to the ground off the drivers.
If your Sled is a 121, install a 136 track and mount the suspesion back 7.5 inches back to reduce track angle and get more wrap around the drivers.
Your track is delaminating because it is getting Hot due to the suspension.

If I move the suspension back will I need new drivers or is cutting the tips off going to hurt?
Also so a fully clipped track is a must on extroverts?

Yes fully clipped is a Must.
If you move the suspension back you can replace the drivers and won't have to cut them increasing they're bite.

No way... not with 600 miles on it... the clips are like new and I have only drive this in heavy snow. I think I have a crappy cobra track.... 1 bad of many... all MFG have that.

In order for delamination to occur a given track must reach it's critical tempurature, some are just lower than others.
Cobra tracks just can't take the heat.

the why do they put the track in the High Performance Category?? Poor Marketing.....
I dont see any other reason why a big chunk of track lug is missing.

Run avid drivers with a fully clipped track.these are by far the best drivers on the market.
The old school 9830 1" & 9818 1.25" tracks are indestructable & work great.
Just get the fully clipped versions.

I agree with Turk, the old school predator 9833 (121") is the fully clipped one I have on mine with 144 studs, nitrous and doo extros and after 2500 miles it shows minimal if any wear. I also love the 6 pitch spacing of the lugs in deep snow she bites and leaves lots of room for studs in the middle so she bites on hard pack as well. I'm just not into the ripsaw, hacksaw, etc The old predators really are tough and I will run one on my new SC apex once I blow out the hacksaw it came with.

The Avids are CNC machined, not injection molded. (more expensive)The Doo drivers are very good, but can't get them anymore. I bought the Avids, they are very "true" because of the way they are made.
