Im doing pre-season work on my brothers RX-warrior and i noticed the shock is taking chunks out of the track (down the center)

Anyone else have this problem??if so how do you correct it?

I know its an issue on the apex, but i never realized it was on the warrior!

Brian

Brian, I've seen it happen on 4-5 sleds (RX-1 & Warriors) but it's not a common thing. The little wheel kit will work on that sled just like it did on your Apex.

You might do a few searches on this topic. There is a lot of info and a couple home brew fixes I have seen on this topic. However, could it be that something in the skid is bent?

Both my 03 and 05 have this problem I need to call you Allen this week for sure. Do you take credit cards?

at 3500 miles i never had this wear!.. not sure why it would start now...

my brother doesnt ride as hard as i do , so i cant believe its bent..

my 04 warrior did it from day one......I never fixed it. My track was always tight too. Dont know why it happened. Eric

Think about what you are saying, ... After 3500 miles, something changed and now the track is rubbing. I'd be looking for what changed versus doing something to cover up the symptom. This is just a suggestion from an ole' equipment failure root cause analyst or you can just discount it as my 2 cents. Either way, the choice is yours.

This happened to me last year and it turns out the shock spring retainer fell off and that is what took chuncks out of my track as it dilodged itself. Check to see if the spring is really loose on the shock.

The cause of the rub marks may not be from the rear shock of the suspension, but, rather from the front shock in the rear suspension. On closer inspection of my '03 I found that the front bottom spring retainer was bent. When I removed the shock to straighten the retainer I also checked the shock for compression. This is when, after removing the spring did I find that the shaft on the shock was also bent. Those people with rub marks on the track with the "old suspension type" may wish to check the front shock out before the riding season starts.

I have to agree with what len stated.
If you have a problem that just started after 3500 miles something has changed and you are patching a potentially bigger problem

Check the bushings. I got that problem and it was the bushings in the shock that was shot, so the end of the shock was then rubbing against the track.
