Just wondering if there are any deals on the Trail Tank for users of this forum. Deal or not what are the prices like?? (canadian dollars)
Worth it or not??

I was thinking about getting one, but I got the Yamaha tankbag and don't think it will work with the trail tank.

I'm hoping I'll like the tank bag, I've never used one before, but this one is not as much in the way as others I've seen, though it still intrudes somewhat.

I bought mine with the summer pricing for $300 US. I think that with the exchange and shipping it was around $370 Canadian and then I paid around $45 duty.

I made a new clip setup for my tank bag because you are right, it won't work with the trail tank. I just rivited a stap to the radiator support under the hood and then sewed a strap to the back of the tank bag then used a couple of the clips like the rear saddle bags use. Sorry no pics.. I just finished it last night.

I have a trail tank with the Yamaha tank bag. I just took 1/4" bungee cord and looped it on to existing tank bag clips and then used plastic 1/4" copper pipe clips that hook onto radiator mounts.its been on there for over 2500 miles with no issues. Cost probably less than $2 to make it.

Ouch. Gotta love the exchange.
To answer the earlier question - its one of the best upgrades to the Nytro you can make. Money well spent.
Its a game changer for sure.

I like my trail tank as well. however the rear two nuts that hold the tank down are still a pain in the arse to start. I think the sleds newer than mine atleast (2009) must have longer studs or something. I ended up welding a nut to a pocket bolt. now its easy to take off.

As far as the tank bag I have one and was trying to figure out how I wanted to mount it so thanks for the ideas guys/gals!

Wife's newly acquired XTX has one, can't even tell it's bigger.
She can be the rollin' extra fuel supplier- I'll carry the siphon hose :)

I had no problem getting the nuts started when I installed the tank as new. I took the tank off last year and it was a different story when I went to reinstall it. I'd read about the tank swelling once gas is added, so I expected it. No big deal really, a ratchet strap across the base of the tank and I was able to pull it into position to get the nuts started. Like porkchop said, at a glance looks stock. The extra fuel is fantastic and love that I don't have to have aux tanks mounted elsewhere on the sled.

for some reason my studs were the nuts go in back take me standing on the tank and someone else starting the nut and half the times it doesn't work. As mentioned used something like in the link and welded a nut tot he top.

Otherwise the extra fuel is great. now that I ride with some 600 etecs they are going the distance. something I wouldn't dream of with the measly 6 useful gallons I had before. they get a little better mpgs but my fillups are always cheaper being im 87 oct and they are 91/93 oct.

AS FAR AS DEALS: I emailed them late summer about discounts and the guy said no sales but was nice enough to offer me a 10% off code.
