Has anyone ever come up with a brass bushing to replace the stupid needle bearings Yamaha used in each end of the transfer rod? The parts are crazy expensive for this dumb little thing. Wondering if someone couldn't fabricate some brass bushings to replace them

I believe they use a Timken bearing or should be able to cross reference the number on the original to Timken, or find by dimensions, they are likely cheaper than what Yamaha wants.

I found replacement ones on ebay for $10 each.. but you still have to replace the spacer and the seals on each side. This adds up. I would like to put a brass bushing in and eliminate it all together
