I tried out what I thought to be a good trail weight (8DN-00), I had them loaded up with 4.5g rivets, when I took it out I hit the rev limiter at 1/2 throttle, took out the top rivet, same thing, so now both rivets are out and you'd think it would work now but NO!, it hits the rev limiter at 3/4 throttle

the setup I have now is

stock weights with top rivet drilled out
OSO primary
silver secondary at 80degrees
washers in the secondary

I only brought it out on a lake with maybe 1" of powder and I can't even break the 100mph mark anymore

I was able to hit 110mph with this setup
stock weights (top rivet not drilled)
OSO primary
white secondary at 120 degrees (don't know why it's that high)
no washers

I have an 03 RX-1 mountain with an 1 1/4" ripsaw, somebody help me out here, I want good upshifting with a good top speed on the lake, I hear alot about the HH's but the place that sells them here wants 450$CA for em

if your hitting the rev limiter, you have to add weight not take it out. those weights are about 42 grams empty, if i remember corectly, werent they stock in the 98 srx?

ya they are stock on the 98 SRX

well I hope some nuts, bolts and washers do the trick, with these weights loaded with the 4.5g rivets the RPM's climbed pretty damn fast compared to the stock weights, guess I have something to try out later today

thanks

Those weights won,t work well on that sled at that altitude. There are a lot better alternatives like 8bu-00 or just drill inner rivet out of the stock weights.

when I was doing all kinds of searches trying to figure out this clutching crap I thought I read that drilling out the outter weight was the thing to do and I do remember reading that drilling the inner rivet gives you better upshift

Turk could you give me a good clutching recipe for drag racing and another one for trail riding, when it comes to clutching a sled I'm lost!!

8bu,s with a 52/44 helix works well in those sleds for 660' Your gonna have to play with rivet configuratiuon tho. I would get a RX-1 helix ; run that & drill out inner rivet in the stock weights. That will wake up your sled & use the stock primary & secondary springs.
