So. . . . rear mount with RB3? From what I hear or read the Rb3 with some timing control can take care of the rear mount lag?

Either way the sled looks awesome. I really want to switch my vector over to the Apex plastics. What was all involved as far as the steering gate and stuff.

OTher thought is to switch it over to rev plastics. I am not sure how much work that would be But I am guessing a different tank and steering gate would need to be built as well as something done with the steering linkage. What are your thoughts on this TT?

There will be mcx own fueling system. No rb3 on me - I like the idea of mcx own injectors. If there will be timing controll - it will be with Powercomander. The feedback the RB3 is getting scears me a little.

I have a dream of a Impulse header, downpipe and gt2860rs with the MCX IC - time will tell. Turbo and rev tank is ready:-)

If you look through the thread. There is a list of all parts needed to put on apex plastic and plenty of pictures of the install.
If you look a little

Cool. . . Yeah I have heard that rb3 can be good or just not good. I did see that dave from PL was saying that they built a rear mount apex with rb3 and with timing control they got rid of the rear mount lag feel? I have never ridden a rear mount so i don't know if it is as bad as everyone says.

I looked back through your post it looks like I need quite a bit of the apex stuff to make it work. I am still really fighting myself about putting my vector motor in a rev chassis. I think i have it figured out that I can use my mid mount header and would just need to build a littler different fuel tank. And change the intercooler up a little. If I could find a rev chassis really cheap i would just doing it.

I know that the vector motor would fit and I really feel that it would have to be as light or lighter than a nytro and handle better. And diffenately handle better then my Vector does. And besides I am a ski doo guy at heart that fell in love with a yamaha. It is kinda like a guy who loves brunettes falling in love with a blonde. The blonde is nice but you sure miss a sweet brunette once in a while.

:-) the brunettes rules - but I can live with a blonde my whole life if she's nice LOL as long as she don't care that I love my turbo project sleds just as much hahahaha I'm a turbofant

Santa passed by today - no the fun begins:-) thanks AJ - that engine crated was amazing built. Engine could have Traveled to the moon and back and still be in one piece;-)

TT- did I remember to put the solid motor mounts in the box? I can't find them here but I dont remember if I packed them up......lol

AJ

Very NICE!!!

O how I wish santa would visit me. I would not mind a head shimed nytro or vector motor in a box in front of my house when I get home! Sure would beat doing the head shim and valve timing myself.

TT well now you have something to do this weekend! What is the plan with the rx1 motor? If it wasn't so expensive to ship back maybe I would buy it to put in my vector chassis. O well I guess.

So what is the first plan of action?

Uhhh still 6 months pendig for santa to arrive..... I want a package too. Great buddy, love to see the heart has arrived.

I got engine, all eletrical wires and components pulled out yesterday. Not too much to do before I get some parts. I am replacing the gear reduction cover. AJ had a fitting installed for the oil return of the turbo. I am also waiting for new head gaskets. I will install a thicker headshim from mcx. Race fuel is out of the question due to it insane price in Norway. It will be ran on pumpfuel (93 oct us/98 oct eur). I might install the mcx oil return pump this weekend. Old engine and turbo kit is sold:-)

looks good

Get some super clean on the new motor, Looks kinda dirty. Glad to see I am not the only crazy person working on a sled in the middle of the summer.

I am still sad that you aren't going to a mid mount header! They are nice!

Engine will get a good wash before beeing installed. Same with the front part of the chassie. I am pretty sure there will be a impulse header and down pipe conversion next winter. Engine, tunnel, turbo kit, seat, skiees and track have to be enough for one season - LOL:-) I have to get a mcx logger and mega tune before going mid mount. I am pretty sure the mcx map will need to be tuned for the gt2860rs and a mid mount header One thing at the time. But the garrett and rev tank is bought;-)

Great idea washing the engine. Go thru all water and oil hoses, and electrical as well. The MCX computer and display unit is a great add-on even if you're not running any mcx injectors (you will I know), my friend has them and they are invalueable help in tuning a custom built turbo system. Welcome to the world of Garrets :-) response is to die for, can imagine a mid mount hahahaha you're going to be the "turbofant" of the year LOL
