Been looking back through the threads and there don't seem to be alot of info on this ski, just wondering if anybody is running them, is there's any real big difference after you have been using them for awhile, what carbide setup works the best and were they worth the money? thinking about getting a set, they're about $300 with carbides here, any info on this would be appreciated, thanks :sled1:

Just put a set on tonight and night a day difference. I'm running 4" on the outside and 2" inside. I take a twisty trail between my house and work and found myself about 10 mph fast. I can't say enough good thing about them. I paid around $300 for skis and carbides.

Thanks for the info, its funny other phazer owners haven't made the switch, darting seems to plague the yamaha phazers and some other models, if you don't mind me asking what width ski did you get? i think theres two different widths in mm? thanks :yam:

I think there's are only one width. My local dealer had them on for $87 each and discounted another 10% of them. Call him and he saved a pair for me and made no mention of different widths. The tuners are definitely wider than the stock and also lighter as well. They certainly gave me allot more confidence on the trail at speed. I use to have a Crossfire 7 that I moded up and that thing flew. Im sure the Phazer would give it a run for it's money on the trails since the tuners have been put on. On the lake is a different story.

Get the skis, you won't regret it.

I'm pretty sure theres a 135mm factory for sleds and a 150mm option to, i think i will go with the 150mm if they have it in stock with your carbide setup, thanks

I'll have to measure mine. I'm happy with the width I got. I wanted wider than stock but didn't want to wide. I ride 80% trail.

put on tuner skis end of season last year and all i can say is wow in handling turns when you want it and no more darting at all. I'm running 4" on the outside and 2" inside as well

Funny that Bergstrom Skegs totally bashes it and says its complete garbage! I read their article and I think they should have written it better for the average person, a little hard to decipher WHY it so bad according to them.

http://www.bergstromskegs.com/oui/tuner_skis.htm

I guess to add they are pretty much the best carbide/ski company out there, so youd think they have some good reasons for writing that article?

For some of us, ski lift, darting, pushing, DOESNT matter.

I have NEVER rode my phazer on a trail or even seen one in the last 8 years or so.

But I could see how its an issue for trail riders.

The Tuner ski MUST WORK though, so many people give it positive reviews. 2 schools of thought I assume.

Tried a pair and was happy to put my mountains back on. Seems to work good on the trail but suck completely in any kind of powder. My stock mountains, with the massive 1.25x1.25" keels, actually perform quite well on trails and resist darting pretty good with a set of ski savers which keep the wear bars from digging in too deep.

I was going to install the tuner skis this season but 6" Shaper bars and Bergstrom ski savers pretty much removed all darting and twitchiness. Its a whole new sled.

Well i purchase a set of tuner skis today and put them on all i can say is what a f#*king difference, no darting, holds a straight line in alot of traffic tracks in the snow, steering is good and easy, doesn't hold the snow on the ski, wider and lighter than stock, seem to get the sled up and carry it in deeper snow better, and they look good, did alot of testing today on some rough trails and on a few untouched lakes as well as heavy traveled lakes, i'm very happy with my upgrade, i feel more confident at running at higher speeds with these skis compared to the factory stock skis, well worth the money. thanks :yam:

So was there two widths available? I looked at other options before buying the tuners and couldn't find a better price on anything "good".

They did have the 150mm in stock so thats what i got, there is a 135mm they use on some sleds, he didn't say which ones, read it in a post a couple pages back to, just under $300 every thing included taxes in thats hard to beat, the 150mm would be a 6" 135mm would be around a 5", i'm glad i bought them, thanks :sled1: :yam:

Did you put your 4" on the outside? I just read something from Yamaha that said you should put the longer carbide on the inside to prevent snow build up.
