tuners need to go

Put on a set of curves. Rode yesterday in Temps in the mid to high 50s. Obviously the snow was soft and loose. The curves worked great. I could ride as hard into the corners as I could on hard pack. I'm sure the other brands mentioned work great too. I'm very happy.

Now I just need a bit more transfer. I read a lot of post with people fighting to keep the skis on the ground. Mine is just the opposite. I can't get them to lift when I need to. View attachment 107832View attachment 107833
How do these Curves work off trail? Do they give you more flotation than the tuners? How many carbides do they have? Are you using a 6" shaper like I am? What is the width compared to the tuner?

The curves are kind of an hourglass shape. They are wider than the tuners and float better than the tuners. I'm using the trail version they also have a mountain version for more floatation. They use a single carbide. I got their 6 inch carbide because they didn't have shapers in stock and I paid for overnight shipping for a trip the next day. I wasn't paying overnight to two separate vendors. Their carbides actually worked really well. Time will tell how they hold up.

Have you considered getting the front and rear damper, which is on select 2016 LE models?

Well I didn't find my tuner skis with the double 6" shaper bar per ski to bad. It handles good on trails that are set up good but I found if the snow was loose at all they liked to push. I have read this thread and most people are recommending to go with the curve skis. I was looking into them but there are a couple different models, which ones work the best for the trails, I do a bit of off trail in the deep powder but I would imagine the curve trail skis would be great in that to. And for carbides what have you guys been having the best luck with. I seen some people saying they didn't mind the shaper bars and others had some darting, and some people have loved the slim Jim Dooly, not sure on what length though.
Thanks Guys

C&A Razors and 9" Shapers and be done with it.

...... I have read this thread and most people are recommending to go with the curve skis. I was looking into them but there are a couple different models, which ones work the best for the trails,.........

I split my time between trails and off-trail......not as much off-trail as I would like but I ride alone quite a bit because a lot of guys can't get off during the week......I'm EXTREMELY happy with the standard Curve XS skis with Slim Jim Dooly wearbars........very good on trail and a surprising amount of float off trail.

You do need to be careful the first few rides if you have to cross railroad tracks or such......the Doolies stick down more than std. bars and can lead to an abrupt stop.....once you're used to them you can tell quickly what you can handle and what you need to be careful about
