Tuners & Steering relocate - dont know if I like them.

So I just added the Tuner skis with 6" inside and 4" outside Woody's carbides and added the OFT steering relocate. After my first trip out I notice I am reaching WAY too far forward for my comfort. I also noticed that I a pushing like a dump truck now as compared to the stock skis with 8" carbides. Anyone have some setup info I can try with these mods on a Nytro?

Rotate your bars back a bit to lessen the ape bar feeling....

For suspension, I think all my damper/compression are pretty much stock, front shocks have no preload and center shock is cranked almost all the way up (only a few threads showing), torsion set to soft (I'm about 210 + gear). Limiter is pulled one hole. I find that my sled rails...

Tuners have 4" and 2" I think...

What have you done with the front end-- ie ball joint mod and also what is your skid shock spring setting? If you have an RTX the spring retainer should be back off as far as possible with as little preset tension. Also what did you set your ski toe in at? And your transfer blocks in the back did you swap them out for ones that Ulmer sells or steal a set off of a Polaris Fusion like I did, they work perfect as you need to restrict the rear a-arm a little more than the stock one as this will stop the wheelie of the front end-- less weight transfer.

I have not done the upper ball joint mod yet. The front end is stock with about 1/2" toe-out. I will do some adjusting on the shocks to change the preload on the skis and limit the weight transfer. I bought some bailer belting that I can use as shim stock between the ski saddle and spindle. It is about 1/4" thick so I was thinking of creating a shim that would go behind the spindle to tip the back of the ski down driving the keel of the ski into the ground more. Do you think that would help also?

I run 4" in / out with no problems + OFT relocator, got the ape hanger feeling but FedEx should be delivering the WRP seat tomorrow & sit higher.

Your gonna love how the wrp seat helps get rid of the ape hanger feel, these two mods should be a matched pair if you sit down while riding at all. I feel that my nytro handles best when standing up, but am looking forward for my first ride of the season on the 2nd to test it out.

The shimming of the ski does help as Bergstrom Skegs recommends this all the time.

Gonna try a 1st ride of the season around lower Tug Hill today.... No WRP seat, its doing its own riding around on a truck!

WRP shipped via FedEx ground and a signature is required for them to leave a package (work days so I've missed 'em 2 in a row).
20 minutes on the phone with 2 different reps & finally got it taken off the truck, I will pick up at terminal 45 minutes away late Friday).
So, SOL when there is a bit of snow again.

What snow conditions wee you riding in?

The Tuners work great on hardpack groomed trails. They are pretty poor in loose snow and off trail.
I also ran 6in4out woodys round carbides on my tuners. Front shocks 0 preload. 5/8in toe out.
Rear skid med torsion blocks, front shock minimum preload.
2013 FX 120 with Ripsaw2 1.25 studded up the middle 130 soemthing ( 4 2 pattern)

I ride hardpack trails...often frozen dirt and ice....sled handles very well and the tuners in these conditions turn well, hold their line, don't dart and have decent steering effort.
As soon as there is loose snow and or go off trail the sled pushes, dives when cornering and there is little floatation.

I'm going to try Curve XS shortly...will post.....IF it ever fawkin snows...green as july here!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and the stock seat is wayyy too low. I bought a Mtn Mod seat last yr right after I first bought and rode my sled...Huge improvement in seating position, transition from sitting/standing. Just added a PMT steering relocate and the combo should be good.
I could see the steering relocate being awkward without a taller seat.

You'll like the seat/relocate combo.

As for the Tuners....if you stick to hardpack trail they work as good as anything ....if you off trail or get lots o' fresh snow you'll need to go to Curves, Polaris grippers, Yamaha Mtn skis or similar....
