Tunnel polished with Mother's Mini ball.

So, basically the "Mag & Alu Polish" should be considered as a primary step and the "Billet" as a secondary step. I wonder how good of a finish you could create by first machine polish (ball or cone) with "Mag & Alu Polish" and then hand polish with "Billet"...

Again, what is everybody using to seal their polished tunnels...?

I dont use anything to seal. Seems to hold up pretty well but, does show its wear by season end. Last y ear I bought some metal sealer stuff from Yamalube. I forget what it was. You can either spray on and leave it or spray on and wipe off. I tried it on a small spot and it seemed to leave a haze.

The best stuff I've seen for sealing Aluminum is called "Zoop Seal" . I picked up a kit last year to seal up all the bling under the hood of my car . The sled gets it next ,,,, I'll post up a few pics when I get at it next month. It's not cheap but it works excellent.

sounds like the quik setup is mag with power tools then billet by hand.
that picture of the billet makes me almost want to polish mine...

McGuires polish by hand. Not sure exact name but it was pink. Seemed to work better than mothers imo.

Mothers Billet is getting hard to find these days. Most places aren't stocking it anymore...

I've used Flitze, Mothers Mag n Aluminum, and Mothers Billet....I now use Busch Super Shine Aluminum polish....looks like Pepto Bismal...it cuts better then the first 3 mentioned and comes off easier.

I have used the Mothers Mini Ball as well with good results. Just wondering (not to hi-jack the thread) but are you guys cleaning the mini ball between uses? If so...what the best method to clean/wash it?

I too used the Busch's aluminum polish, got it from a truck store (Scientific). Worked well, but have to do it every year, boots really scuff it up when riding. Never sealed it. Ill see if I can find last years pic on here. Used the ball and then by hand.

Doesn't matter what polish you use..you are always going to have to give it touch up at the beginning of every season. Sealing it helps keep the shine longer. Boots will always scuff up the shine, nature of the beast...sealing it won't prevent that, sealing just keeps grime, salt, from killing the shine. Nice sled btw ;)!

HRD2PLZ You need to powder coat your a arms and spindles to match the red in your graphics. That would look bad ace

Zoop seal is no more, it is now called "shine seal". www.shineseal.com is the direct site. This is the stuff I used after polishing mine, worked really well but like mentioned above it's pricey. Hope it holds up this season and makes it easier for next year. I definitely did the hard part this year, two days of sanding and polishing. I'm polished out #$%&* But it was pretty oxidized at the start of it.
