The tunnel protectors that yamaha sells are made from 1" (or about) square aluminum tubing and have a bend in the front to partially protect the heat exchanger, and also have a bevel at the back to match the tunnel profile. My dealer had some made before yamaha had the "oem" ones available and are very similar but cover more of the heat exchanger.

I would like to make my own... I have the square tubing. but I am having problems bending it, and/or finding someone that can bend it for me.

do you know the lengths of them or exactly where they go for placement

I don't have any numbers for length at this time, but the placement is always inline with the track clips/windows.

I got mine from SMB on E-bay they went in about ten mins. It was not a hard thing to do. they come up and guard the heat exchanger pretty good as well.

Later,
Will

Come on...i know SOMEONE that looks at this has to be studded and has these things

Ya, got mine at Hauck Power Sports in Rice Lake WI! Put them on with ght-r-done kit. I say order them, throw them on and go ride!! ;)!

i know where i can get these from but i can get the aluminum tubing and have it bent for next to nothing so rather than buying them what i need is the measurments to the bend and the angle if anyone knows it...Thanks
