Got this beauty installed over the weekend, I have to say that for an aftermarket system, and especially one that adapts the BRP linq system, this is damn near factory quality.

Up North Technologies makes this product, and its simply amazing. I cannot think of a batter way to carry gas and a bag.

Ken there was amazing to deal with and the instructions and packaging was perfect. I have nothing bad to say about him and his brand.

Enjoy.

Looks nice, Junior. Curious why it's necessary to install the piece that elevates the LinQ system brackets above the tunnel? Couldn't you just mount the flat plates that hold the LinQ brackets directly to the tunnel?

Yup, I think you could do that very easily if you wanted to. I didnt consider that option at all, i'm quite happy having the gap in between the metal of the tunnel and the bottom of the gas can/bag.

Do you have tunnel coolers (heat exchanger) underneath in that area? Can you adjust the position of the LinQ plates/brackets on the elevated piece?

there is two aluminum pieces that run the length of the tunnel that are closer to the center and leave a few inches between them and the end of the tunnel. There are enough holes on the adapter plate that you could drill holes and bolt them directly to the tunnel with no fear of the coolers being hurt.

those plates for the linq adapter (if you dont mind drilling a couple extra holes, which i did do) are completely adjustable along the length of the rack. I moved the one for the bag back just a touch so i could ensure ample room in between. I am completely pleased with the set up.

Sort of.
I bought the adapter plate for like 50 bucks and bolted it to my tunnel using 4- 1" tall aluminum spacers.
I used the spacers because the linq attachment brackets did not allow the mounting plate to sit flat on the tunnel.

At Hay Days this year, there was a mountain Viper in the Yamaha tent that had an aftermarket low-profile, tunnel-mount, aluminum fuel caddy. It mounted to the tunnel with some small ball-joint style pins that pushed into rubber grommets on one end, and was sort of hinged on the other end. I remember asking someone to show me how it attached to the tunnel. It was pretty slick. I think it held 3 gallons, but you would swear it was a lot less, given how thin and low it sat on the tunnel. I wish I knew who made it so I could post a pic here.

Edit: I found a pic right here on TY in the Hay Days thread - Thanks Tom.

how does the rack mount to the tunnel?

You should check out the powderedkeg system at ( powderkegllc.com ) or ( 1 888 758 7307 ) it is a cool looking system.

the mount connects by way of 6 Bolts, so have to drill holes in the tunnel. But solid as a church.

They should be out soon by there recent post as of dec 9 they have the molds and are making them . punch on the Yamaha at the top of the page then go to recent post at the bottom of page it explainers what is going on.

Looks great except for that Ski Doo bag that is attached. Perhaps some black duct tape could be applied to that blemish on your otherwise beautiful sled.

The BRP bag does look big enough to hold some spare pistons and cylinders which is very handy for the Ski Doo 800 two smoke riders. LOL!
