I polished my tunnel last year...not making that same mistake this year as polished aluminum and snow do not mix well. I hit the tunnel up with a few SOS pads this year, and it looks halfway decent. Any better ideas for a quick cleaning?

Also, last year the valve cover looked like absolute #*$&@. Without removing it, I was able to sand it with some fine sandpaper and get it looking decent. Again, this year, after storage, it looks like #*$&@. Without removing it, can anything else then sanding be done for a quick cleaning?

Same problem with my warrior this summer(last summer no build-up over storage).Very hard to remove without scratching the metal. :ORC

It's not that hard, just time consuming. I think I just hit the valve cover with like 600 or 800 grit to start with last year...just start with fine paper and if it's not working, go rougher. I don't mind doing it, just gets repetitive. I should just take the stupid cover off and get it powder coated, along with the belt guard and a few other things.

At least Skidoo paints/coats parts....bare aluminum on sleds is stupid :o|

Mothers will do it

Hey boys...easy with the grit stuff.....Get some mothers polish http://www.mothers.com/products/ ….It makes aluminum shine like you would not believe….Its a bit of work……but it does a beautiful job…..Rub in with a small (3x3 in) piece of terry cloth…..it will turn black as heck….with some paper towel, remove excess and then rub and buff with terry cloth…..
