I am used to nitrous too.
You have to run the correct ignition timing with nitrous or else thing can turn bad rather quickly....
And yes you need different pistons to run big nitrous shots.... ... different ringland placement

But like you suggest, I would not use a big nitrous shot to 'gain' hp up top... with a turbo, juste up the boost or go bigger turbo, why bother with nitrous when you can just... boost anyway.

I understand what you are saying, I am just sharing my experience using it and it has worked great for me for going on 5 years on 4 strokes, set up properly with the right fuel it works fine. but I understand if you have had problems running it why you don,t I would be the same if I had had any problems, I ran it for three years on my 2 stroke as well, holding the button for 45-60 seconds at a time and have never had any kind of failure related to nitrous use. just my experience doesn,t mean its for everybody. if I do have a failure after a total of 8 years use I don,t think thats too bad, its bound to happen when ever you keep pushing a motor.

Its a proven fact nitrous is more 'violent' on the engine than the same amount of torque using boost.

look at how many years Freak ran 22lbs with 100hp shot on his trx, sure he finally had issues which is expected when you abuse a motor like that that long, but it didn,t happen in one 660 ft. run with a 30 hp shot to spool the turbo.

I have a bigger turbo I run 20+ lbs, no timing pulled no loss of power, and still run nitrous as I said it may not work for everybody but it works for me, and has for 8 years, and all the guy wants to do is use it to spool the turbo out of the hole, and it works good for that. thats what this was all about.
