What do folks think about these? What is involved to make a reliable setup? I really like my phazer, might be nice for it to have a little more HP.
Does the reverse need to be deleted(IE will it hold up)
I think 110-120HP would be fantastic.

I agree. MCX has a 115 kit listed, but no price no info http://www.mcxpressturbos.com/yamaha_phazer_snowmobile.html
But jeez some of them are expensive

Who's kit? Any reliability issues? What is done to the engine?

MPI kit had it out west and in the Midwest no problems has a head shim in it and I always mix some race gas to be safe

I ride with turbo and 142,5 hp. No problems (well no engine proplems)./

I would like to not have to do race gas, again I enjoy the sled as is, however if it had another 20+hp I am sure it would be even better!

I guess that what you call race gas in USA is the same as premium over here (Sweden). So it is a bit easier for us to ride with boost.

The new Hindle header exhaust system almost gives you the extra ponies you're looking for.I would like to not have to do race gas, again I enjoy the sled as is, however if it had another 20+hp I am sure it would be even better!

If you Turbo or charge, do it right or it'll leave ya stranded. 2 I know of locally here that charged but didn't shim the head. Both blown up!!
One went like a bat outa heck for 1/2 mile. Cool site when sparks came out the exhaust pipe
Kits aren't cheap. I'm unsure of install prices but I would think you really need to know what your doing to ensure it's installed 100%!!
My $.02

Email or PM Hindle to get the Dyno sheets. Read through to convert Hurricanes Dyno RPM numbers to relate them to the Phazer RPM's.
My seat Dyno, HAPPY.
Prepair to clutch. (i'm at Max Yama weights so looking to buy kit. To hard adn time consuming to mess with rivits)
Be ok with Decell pop.
Loud in the Helmet up to 5-5500RPM (BV2S)

I only have about 300 miles on mine, I have no head shim, but have been running straight race gas vp c14, I bought my supercharger used, I did blow a supercharger belt first and only time out this season, but I really have no idea how many miles were on the belt to begin with. So now I make sure I carry a spare. It's the best thing I've ever done to the sled

Bought a turbo one last year. It's a hoot to ride. My wife really likes it after muscling an apex around for a few years. Ours is a boondocker kit. From what I can tell they didn't really produce them and just did a few. Supposedly this one was originally for one of their racers or a shop guy. Our reverse box got hot last year when she was working the sled hard on a warm day. Too much idling and not enough air flow during a good stuck in mashed potato snow and it melted to the point where it didn't know whether it was coming or going. Made for an interesting ride home. Ours is shimmed. Run it at 8-10 pounds with 3/2 gallons of 91 and c12.

So anyone who runs one runs a mixture of race gas?
I am thinking if I do one and do it right, It will get torn down, billet rods and modify the pistons. Of course this is a ways out, I really am just kicking around the idea of it.
