I used Yamabond#4 per Buckeye's suggestion. I have not had any problems under boost. All my problems were under no boost or very little boost.
Constant popping thru the exhaust. I found a sticking slide in carb #1 and per spray25's suggestion set the floats at 17mm.
I lost 90 percent of the popping while on a stand between 4500-7000RPM with those 2 fixes. Have not had any snow to try it out yet.
I do know what it feels like to want to set it on fire though.
Is a small amount of popping in say one throttle position, EX: 5000RPM something that I have to live with?

I'm not sure. I had no popping last year with the Switzer turbo. This year with the Garret GT28r I get some on high idle at warmup. I opened the screws to 2.5 and I can't really tell if it made a difference. Once the sled is warm it seems to be ok. I do need to T the carb coolant lines and put in a shutoff, becasue it starts very hard when hot. The Yamabond 4 works great. It makes a good seal and remains pliable. It is also impervious to gas and oil and won't degrade.

Buckeye: Mine starts great when warmed up. Just turn the key. I do have the shut off in the coolant line to the carbs.
Mine seems to be a little difficult when dead cold. It just seems to crank a little longer than I expect it too.
All jetting is stock with pilot jets 2 turns off seat.

Big Dog,
I am trying some different pilots to address some lowend popping. I will let you know how it goes.

Spray...... I have discussed the issue with Rocky and he suggests the system was designed to for pre boost or eliminate lag.... THat is does right now,,, buy the fuel delivery does not work while under boost..... most guys that have the turbo with the boondockers may feel the engine go lean on the top end..... the test, push the button at 10 or more lbs at full rich setting and the bottom will go instant lean.... i am trying some other means to for refueling the system.....

ouch go to 130's IMHO
Looks like we've stolen 929rog's post here, sorry about that. BTW 929rog have you had a chance to change your jets like RXHALLER suggested? If so what were your results?
RXHALLER, your running 128 mains??? I didn't think there were any that size. I have 127 mains in mine right now with the Powderlite turbo (still haven't got it running right yet) like they suggested, not sure if this is there mountain setup, but they say that's what I should run for the prairies too. This turbo is very much like the McExpress in which they recommend 130's, some non-yamy friends tell me I should run stock jets, don't know what to do. What elevation do you run at? I have the carbs out now to reseal that T fitting and if I'm goin to change them, nows the time. This setup does not use a Pito like the Bender (whatever that is) however I was told I could use a restrictor in the line that comes from the charge tube which will change the fuel mixture. I've yet to get it running properly though, I believe it's the T fittings giving me problems by not being sealed.
You guys also mention using Yamabond #4 on these T connectors, is that just another epoxy? Who sells that?

Yamahabond#4 is sold at Yamaha dealer. Dries semi hard. In a tube, no mixing required.

HLMRX, I am running 130 mains in my Simons Turbo out in Brandon at an average 1500' elevation. My air/fuel gauge is still in the average range(mid-orange) & was safe at -19C. I was leery going with 130 mains but Jeff did his homework & the A/F guage tells me I am safe.

Yeah I ordered 127.5's and 128.8 's , decided to go with 128.8's don't forget that this is a mountain sled ,however the jetting seems fine also at sea level . Get those "t's fixed ,and it'll run much better .

Hey Turk, what does Simon's use other than the main jets to adjust the jetting? Sounds like Bender's use something called a Pito and Powderlites use what's called a restrictor (just a different diameter tube in the line that goes from the charge tube to the carberator mod).
Have not been able to jet it yet. Dealer orders everything. I'll give an update after this weekend. Snowing hard right now! Thats too bad all I need is ice!!!

Well guys, took the carb rack right out this weekend and epoxy'd the T's and decided to go from 127.5 mains to 130's just to be on the safe side. The T's were definitely not sealed, and I figure that was the problem because I got it back together and could tell it was running different even at idle, now I punch it and it just screams!!!!!!!! Thanks for the input guys.

Here's a thought on the popping in the exhaust at an idle, check your valve clearance on the exhaust,if the exhaust is tight it will make a popping sound out the exhaust, another symptom is if the engine takes a while to idle down.Linc
