Turbo

is the air filter relocation necesary for mostly trail rideing or is that more for powder? also all i see on here is people running the MCXpress kit, i see lots of company making turbos but only one being used, whys that?

Only the best is the best :flag:

Filter relocation is probably better for powder. I have had no problems ecxept one time when the sled was stuck in deep shi* and the snow got over the filter level and there was some smoke out of the exhaust.

Ok, I'm rotating the cam gears and the manual said oval the holes 0,8mm. I am assumng that is meant to be 0.8mm? I don't wamt to be wrong. :ORC I am also in need of clutch weights. I was leaning towards heavy hitter 60 grams, but what else have you guys tried? Last, I am thinking of a striaght pipe off the turbo. Id'e like to go as light as possible ;)! Any input?

0,8 mm is european for 0.8 mm

I have the Super Tips arms, recommended by the Yamaha distributor.
I will also try a straight pipe, but I fear for some high dbA levels :tg:

Air filter works fine on my sled even in powder , the only mfg actually making the kit is Mcx.

Open up muffler , and if you do not need altitude compensating , by pass it , just use a hose from compressor side of turbo directly to waste gate , adjust to 12 lbs !

We had some switchs freeze in the mtns, would spike to 20-25 lbs, 2-3 times( which could break the motor ) , then settle to 12 lbs !

My sled would only see about 1 lbs change in 3000 feet.

Set it at 12 at the lower level , go up and see the loss .

You can raise the beginning boost to compensate , so it will lower to 12 lbs at 4500 ft , but be careful down low not to hurt the engine !

i am new to turbos so bare with me here but i thought that because the phazer was EFI that you would not have to worry about altitude

OK, Next question.
The larger aluminum tee that connects the oil breather hoses needs to be routed. It looks like they route it towards the secondary :o|
I'm not too thrilled with the instructions on charge tube routing or when to reinstall the front end but am getting there. Also, what do you do with the barometric sensor? I am guesing you zip tie it somewhere?
Thanks for the help

Barometric sensor nylon ties to frame beside the mcx box , put the hole down so it can't collect water !

Large aluminium tee ? to the intercooler and blowoff valve ??

It looks like the aluminum tee is for the oil breather setup. It looks like the hose from the oil tank connects to it, as well as the small hose from the valve cover. I'm not sure where to route the 3rd hose I will get out of the air box. It said air will be flowing , but I don't want that near the clutches. Anyone mount a boost guage and like the install? I moved the guage setup on the headlight mask, but need to mount a boost guage now.

Some dyno results from Sweden:

142 HP @ 0.8 bar (11,5 psi)
155 HP @ 0.9 bar (13 psi)
162 HP @ 1.0 bar (14,5 psi)
Race fuel and 1.3 bar ????? (scary ;)! )

I got 20 miles on it yesterday, WOW :jump: ;)! :-o
I feel like a teenager on prom night. A little clutching work left but it puts a grin on your face.

Hey, teerex and aksteepndeep! I just got my MCX. You guys got any hot tips for the install? I bet you have pics, teerex. I think everyone(especially me) would love to see them!
