Friday Munising to Grand Marais through Seney and back about 150 miles. Great ride with great people and surprising amount of snow.
Lost a bolt from a cross shaft in my skid. Thankfully another rider ( I forget usernames) had one that fit plus a vice grip to hold the shaft. Back in business.
Back at Comfort Inn decided to take a break and fell asleep watching TV. Not really a bar person anyhow. I did want to see the band for a bit, but maybe next year.
Saturday morning we were up early, ate breakfast, and on the trail by 8am. First sleds on freshly groomed snow from the trail head. Two other sleds followed, but we went west to 7 and they went east. The fresh grooming did not last, but overall not bad until we got close the the spring. Met 2 other sleds coming up from the spring Spent about 45 minutes at the spring taking pics and checking out the updated raft. Hadn't been there is 15+ yrs. Back on the trail and up the haywire. No sleds for the bettter part of the way. This trail was pretty pounded, but we powered through it and back to the CI before noon. Trip avg 36 mph according the Doo digital gauge. I learned a lot about both sleds on this trip. I didn't think Elaine had it in her to run as hard as she did Friday or Saturday. It took her a bit to build her confidence but she really impressed me logging 93 mph (speedo) on the Renegade recall.
250 miles not a bad day and a half. Already planning for next trip and how we can occupy ourselves in the early am hrs. before the main group gets going.
Sorry I didn't get to meet many of you. I think the majority came in for Saturday's ride. We'll try to make it longer next time. W never have "vacationed" very well and had to be back Saturday eve for home chores and so I can tap tress Sunday then Funeral visitation Monday.
TD... I will keep checking the mail for the money for the bolt and vise grip rental! My brother (James the SkiDoo dork) and I had a blast riding with all of you on Friday. I wish we hadn't needed to leave on Saturday... would have loved to go check out the raft with you.

Hey I'd return the bolt, but the shaft and both bolts are now gone. I ordered the parts from Cat and the shaft is BO until June. This was an extra rod for the RR skid so I'm sure it's fine without it. I had it as tight as I could get it with the goofy little tool kit wrench. In hindsight I probably should have checked it in the am before we left. I had the little gun, socket, and Loctite in the truck...
Anyhow thanks again for the bolt and the tool use. Hope to ride together again soon.
I'm cooking sap the next couple weekends, but if Muni gets a late snow or conditions hold up in the area I might could be convinced to make a trip for a Saturday, possibly Sunday ride.
We started new traditional pitstop along the way:

Muni was a blast. Thanks Mr Sled and TY. This is truly a great group.
Nos Pro, that was more like a three inch maple that kicked your butt! Definitely wish we got that on Yamahaguys go pro. I do have the fuzzy picture of the Viper rub on the tree just in case I need it sometime
Buddha, thanks for the help with Shagman's sled on Sunday.
Was great meeting everyone. I am already looking forward to next year.
Now all I can do is walk out in the garage and polish the viper. Sandale exhaust and Rocks HID are installed. May have to load it on the trailer this weekend and tow it 2 miles for a rip around the bombing range. Only place I might find rideable snow.
Thanks again to everyone for making the new guys feel like part of the group.

I'm already planning to be back in MI for at least 4 TY rides next year. No point in holding my breath for ride-able snow in central WI. Everyone that I got to ride with and meet was awesome and I regret not getting to meet all of you!

A big thank you goes out to Mr. Sled for the memorable, first TY ride experience. I attended this event by myself and left with a group of friends, and plan on returning next year. Thank you to Mr Sled, Frank the Tank, Shagman, Eric, Agman 57 and farmerschiferl, plus the others for including me in the weekend.

Tom, great to see you again as well. This year was pretty disappointing in Monroe Co. We do have some great trails and our groomers are top notch. They managed to keep the trails closed so they could groom what little snow we had and open them up with only like 2 inches of base. Hats off to them but I am not opposed to travel a lot next year if need be. Wish I would have met all of you guys sooner as it appears there were several other places in WI with good snow. Some of you guys may be playing tour guide next year. I think you should have a TY ride up by you and we should get one together over by Manitowoc. I'm sure cannondale27 and NOS PRO would host a good time.It was nice to ride with you, your bro and your bud...trails killed me on Sat along with staying up till 4am... The trails in MI were a little rough and I think everyone got beat up. I can't wait to go back with good snow next year and maybe I/we can put on some 300 mi days.
