May be looking at going up north since we have no snow here! :o| Wondering what the trail conditions are like and where to go since i have never been to the U.P.

We do have some snow. It's not the best but there's a good 8-10 inches on the east end. It's been kinda warm (near freezing) here lately so there isn't much in the way of powder but the groomers are out...but the trails are tender, thin, and icy.

Trails were pretty rough around Wakefield, Bergland, Maranesco on Saturday. They have plenty of snow they need the trails to freeze and set up on the western UP. If they get snow on Thursday and Friday could be another mess with everyone going to the same spot. Hopefully in two weeks it will be in better shape. Truthfully the trails from east of watersmeet and the very northern part of WI were better because the less snow made for no moguls but I don't think they are going to last long with the warm temps.

thanks for the info guys! looking at going in a couple weeks if plans hold up!!! keep the info coming

I rode in the Keweenaw this past weekend. Thin around Houghton/Hancock, once you get north of Calumet they get better. Monday, (today) I rode between Curtis and Grand Marais. Trails were actually not too bad, but the warm up today is starting to take a toll. I think the Cent/North U.P. may get some snow at the end of this week. We need it.

We rode Tue - sun last week. Mostly great riding. Pine stump, newberry (horrible south of 415 in the low lands), seney, munising, grand marais.

Even spent most of Thur in Curtis at the dealer (pal has an 08 800 skidoo) decent lunch at tally ho while we waited.

For sure no riding east of pine stump. Even 410 was thin along the lake. Alot of decent snow along 8, 88, 443 &888. Friday had temps in the 40's and a lot of snow was lost. Was hard to find good trails around GM.

Sat had pretty icey conditions from snow bands and temps in the low 20's that had froze the slushy conditions we saw on fri. On sun it was snowing with about 3 or 4 in of accumulation since sat night.

Way better than the zero snow we have in the lower.

You are best to follow johndee on that area. Many of the posts are fresh and some of the guys that post drive the groomers.
