called and talked to allen today. nice guy, glad to have met him. I have two guys in my group of riders who bought a nytro after me. I want to add something that keeps my sled sounding stock and but performs better than the other two stockers. We are mostly trail riders in the U.P. SO I think I have narrowed it down to a clutch kit and header. What do you guys think?
For under a grand what would you buy?

if u dont want them to find out thats what i would do... the K&Ns make it a bit louder, and theyd see it (if secrecy is what ur going for)

I think the header is a good idea.

I'm doing k&n's, header, PC3, and clutch kit from Ulmer. After talking to Allen he convinced me to not changer mufflers as you get a whole lot more noise for not that much more power.

what is the huge advantage of the pc3? If I were to choose between pc3 or k&n which has more benefit?
I've thought about what I am going to say to my one buddy on his nytro when I am beating him everytime. I plan on telling him that the pics he installed this summer must have slowed him down. ha

pc3 is needed when you allow more air to flow into the engine from exhaust/intake mods. You might be "ok" with just the k&n filters or just he header, but if you add both you will need more fuel, aka pc3.

ok so i need to do a little more research on this pc3. other than fuel can it do anything else for me?
I read topics about mapping my understanding is this is what tells the pc3 how to perform for this sled.
can I program the pc3 myself or do I need to buy one from a vendor and have it setup for my sled?

If you by a PC3 from Ulmer, it will come mapped for your mods. The PC3 will alter the fuel mapping of your stock computer...making it richer or leaner where it needs it. Easier to buy it from him already mapped so you can just plug it in and go.

so if in the future i add lets say an intake then i need to send the pc3 in to be reprogrammed?

You can reprogram the PC3 youself from any computer. It is really simple if you have a map to put into it.
