Thanks. I think I will stick with the 2.5". Makes sense to me. I know they don't recommend a cold air intake either.
Correct, only the Stage 1R, 3R and 4R for cold air intake and you can't use any other intake....only theirs.
Now, some of you may think that is hogwash as many have asked "why can't I run any cold air intake....why do I have to get theirs for their "R" kits?" I'm here to tell you that Sebastian has gone to great lengths to come up with bulletproof tunes and this is their way of protecting their customers engines...which to me is smart.

One of my buddies had the first one and worked great since 2017
I don't think he is tuning his 2021, so it might be for sale
Hey Kevin,
I'd be interested in your bud's Precision EFI trail if he plans to sell it. Tried to PM you but you must have a block on those.

So their CAI must not work that well if hes afraid of using some one else's or what is the issue ?

It’s not so much as to whether the incoming air is colder for one system to the next, the intake air temp sensor adjusts for that. It’s the amount of restriction the intake has compared to another intake that will make the biggest difference. Evidence here is, different intakes have different full throttle afr readings, but very little difference at idle and part throttle. M2c

Possibly but the tune must be really close to the edge. Be interesting to see the AFRs on a 3R or 4R.

From Sebastian, their intake flows better and is completely tuned and dynoed for their stages...that is why they will not sell an "R" stage flash without their own cold air intake.

Thats the facts. I tune vehicles quite often and have seen just an air filter change make over .5 afr difference in the tune. Start adding in different lengths and diameters of intake pipe and it gets even worse. Never changes the cruise area of the tune just the full throttle afr’s. Food for thought.
