Knowing all the drama that surrounded the clutch / belt issues with the Viper last winter, I just found out that Ultimax now has a belt for the Viper. The part number is XS825. The Ultimax belt that was used on the FX Nytro and other models was XS805.

Right on !

Cool thanks!
Not sure how well it would work for the Viper, but I know that the Doo guys had a Gates belt that they were liking quite a bit. Pretty sure it was a Carbon Cord model.

On my nytro I never ran a stock belt from day one , so I think it would work great on the viper !!!!
Got one on my turbo cat and it works great , over 1500 miles on it !

Good that we have another option with the Gates belt.
I also am one that doesn't use a stock belt ... Didn't use one on my RS Nytro, FX Nytro or will on my Viper when it comes in. I know the stock belts (historically the 8DN) last forever. But I like to use the Ultimax for performance reasons and I have been getting good life out of them too (2500+ miles).
I have no idea if these aftermarket belt options will aid in the clutching/belt issues that were discovered last year with the Viper. It looks like people have been having success and making progress through the use of the 8DN (or Ultimax XS805) belts with clutching adjustments and/or clutch kits. But at least it's nice to know that we now have other belt options.

I am very happy with 8dn but it has no adjustment left if and when it wears or if you happen to get one a bit longer. If the new belts have same compounds the 8dn replacements had in past with the 8jp length they will definitely be in my sled.

I've been emailing ultimax all winter and spring , so I've been waiting for this belt and can wait to run it , ran the gates last year and work great has way better grip then the stock belt .
I also replace my belts every year no matter how many miles on it ....
Cannondale , thats what I had when I was trying out the 8dn so I didn't see any point in using it !

Does the Ultramax or the gates have a warranty? 10 years ago I believe, the ultramax did. But Sleds today have 2x or 3x the horsepower with turbos.

It's a limited warranty !Does the Ultramax or the gates have a warranty? 10 years ago I believe, the ultramax did. But Sleds today have 2x or 3x the horsepower with turbos.
It only covers manufacture defects , so if it blows apart they won't cover that , if your clutches are all set up right you shouldn't blow belts anyways

I don't know the details of their warranty. But I've sent a blown belt into Ultimax for warrant and they replaced it. But it takes a few months for it to go through.
