i changed mine at 3000 miles and they still had wear left probably another 500 - 700 miles in them. i put the graphite ones on because of excellent luck with them and the cost is not much more not sure where you guys are buying them but i got mine from port yamaha and there is not much price difference maybe 10 bucks.
