I would like to start a thread of under tunnel exhausts. I have mine installed, but am worried about the track hitting. I would like to see pictures of them actually installed showing the track clearance.

My pipe is 4.5", running a 2" track with a crossfire float skid on an XTX, so that leaves like a1-2" of clearance...

Here is one of mine before the track and skid was installed. I will grab one with both installed later.

Im thinking ts going to be crumbled up towards the front of the tunnel!

X2.

My plan is to close off the tunnel, but to use the space above the tunnnel for the exhaust. I've got a U-pipe that will conect to the header, and a short muffler that will attach to that, facing forward.

Unfortunately I won't be anywhere near my sled until Dec 23rd, so I can't get it together before Christmas, but I will be posting pics.

Two things I see:

That warm clamp is not going to hold that muffler.

That exhaust clamp is going to catch the track lugs and tear them.

I ran a 1.75 and a Jardine muffler for one year, my track would contact the muffler once in a while, I can only imagine yours will do it more.

Turn the clamp over so the bolts are on the top. I think you are going to rub on the track too. I have an under tunnel, with a 1.75" and I get minor rubbing. I hope to take care of that before this season.

I'm running a dirtbike silencer on mine, with a 2.25" Challenger track, and have yet to hit pipe. I think the silencer is around 4" too.

Before installing any kind of under tunnel exhaust, take the shocks and springs out of the skid so that it compresses fully. Then check your clearance on top of the track and keep in mind that the track will "grow" another one or two inches at full speed.

^ dunno about this guy...
last time i checked, the front shaft and the upper iddlers DONT move with the suspension...so unless your rear axle manages to go PAST the upper idlers...
all you need to worry about is 1-2" of balloning at high speeds and braking.

Did you install a m skid? If so and you used the cat mounting specs you wont have to worry about it hitting because there is way more clearance then a xtx skid.

I agree, but I compressed it anyways. It did not change. The track will balloon out.

I think compressing of the suspension comes from the MTX guys who can push the muffler WAY back to have the muffler past that top idler. They need to copress that back half, but us rtx and xtx guys have to have that muffler sitting abover the idler.

The clamp is very tight. I am not sure the pipe will come off if i take the clamp off. I will double check though.

How much does your aftermarket one drop? Actually wanted your kit, but am being cheap. LOL.

I installed it and I guess I made my own specs. I can always change it though. I mainly drilled another hole in the front 1.5 down and back. Made read brackets to line up with the skid.
