* UPDATED *HELP..dealer says ECP kit won't work 03 rx-1

"Fair enough - I didn't know what they are called - but they don't work well with 165's in them. At least I can take comfort in knowing that I wasn't the one who took them for mains by mistake though."

You are one of the few that do not like the 165 main jets. Out of all the Air Kits I have sold, I would say 85% have 165 main jets.

I just put the Dalton clutch kit in...and the Manning boys recommended 70lbs on the secondary...but my problem is I can't tell which is 6 and which is 9....they usually put a line under one...SOB...well I guess it's guess time!

70 deg

it,s 70 degree,s not 70 lb. and you read the number,s from the center out . meaning that the center bushing is at the bottem of the number,s . :flag:

Well....had the sled out today and was fairly happy with the results. I think the clutch kit more than anything helped with a lot of bottom end, and the needles are in position 2 now and still no bog.

I didn't get a real great open stretch to max it out, but again all I could see on the speedo was 103 tops, and still not reving past 9200. Any ideas on where the rev's are? I may have never been hitting 10,000+.

I thought maybe the new clutch kit would improve the rpm's but I was wrong.

Still ove the machine..just not the rear suspension

Sorry Freddie, you misunderstood me.

I meant to say that the RX-1 doesn't run well with 165 mains, installed in the intermediate ports. Other than that, the kit flat out rocks when the clutching is in synch with it. At any rate - It's a great mod and it worked AWESOME!

now put the stock airbox on and watch it really rock.

Yeah, what he said! :ORC

Were not going to debate this again when there are more satisified ECP customers including myself than your post count will ever achieve!

This impute is a little late but I put supertuners kit on my 03 along with the carb rings. I at the same time changed the pipes and track from a .9 to a 1.6. I lost top speed power etc. But what I found out is that my pipes also needed to be jetted so I changed them to a different pipe and took out epc kit. I was sick with the loss of power so I put kit back in synced the carbs and haven't touched it since accept for heavy hiters and man does that thing perform. First ride out I tried a wheelie and flipped it right over backwards and had to replace dash peices but well worth it. It is a must and once installed properly is the best inexpensive performance mod that could be done. I just learned to only change one thing at a time. :Rockon: Thanks Freddie for all the help you gave me on it. I now also have a 07 rtx, is there anything that you make or recomend like the epc kit for the fuel injected machines?

If you did not go with the clutch designed for my air kit, you end up "Driving through the clutch." In the old days we used to call this "smoking the belt." With todays hard compound belts they rarely smoke unless you are so far out in left field that the sled will hardly move.

The fuel injected 4 strokes Yamaha's will require the addition of a Dynojet Power Commander and a dynamometer capable of reading Air/Fuel ratio's. I have Power Commanders in stock at a substantial discount.

I just had my dealer remap the fuel injection system on it. He says this will make a difference. How does this other thing you are talking about work. What kind of money is it and is it easy to install? You also mentioned about clutching on my 03 with your ecp kit on it. I remember our last ride last year the snow was heavy and the primary heated up so bad you couldn't touch it. This is probanly a clutching issue. What do you offer for clutch's on my 03 rx-1?

I PM'd you bleedinblue. So far the best clutch I have used is Dale Toole's from Dalton Performance.
