i am thinking of doing the same next summer.

we just did my buddys rev smoothed the panels, than sprayed black with some copper metallic,i think pennys when you look at it in the sun.its holding up real good,he goes side to side in the deeper stuff,no scuffs yet.i'm sure he will get chips because he's always behind me!

painted body panels

No problems with painted side panels in 500 miles from normal use. A dime sized chip on right side when sled fell off truck before season even started. Don`t ask !

Almost 1000 miles on mine and about 800 of them are rough. In the area I ride the trails aren't that great and a lot of branches and twigs hit the paint. No chips, no scratches. I have buffed it a few times and it cleans up real easy. The key to a good job is all in the prep work. You need great adhesion between the primer and the plastic and don't skimp out on the paint materials. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Both the Nytro and Attak of mine still look flawless!

Nytro has 3,000 miles on and was painted when new. The sled goes everywhere, just do a search for pics in the TY rides. No problmes anywhere.

Attak has 7,000 miles and was painted when new also. This sled has run every asphalt season and every winter season so all year round use. I do have 3 chips from ice chips or debris and a spot where I hit a stump under the snow. I have a spot where the clear cracked from me jumping my attak in 06 doing some supermans and no-footers. Cam down and hit my knee on the side panel. Can't tell unless I point it out to you.

Just ask anyone that has seen my sleds on the trail and the paint is holding up great!

Just wanted to add that it is all in the prep work.

I had a body shop that specializes in corvettes and show cars do my painted panels and I will definitely go back. Send them your panels and for around $700.00 any color you want....can't beat it!

Cool, thanks guys,i just have to find out the right prep procedure so that my brother can paint them, also the color code for a 07 apex gt candy red and i'm all set.
