I posted this on the RS chat also. I bought an 05 Vector with 1000 miles on it that had sat for 2 years. It ran a litltle rough. I changed oil, plugs, cleaned carbs. Started hard, fouled plugs. Changed them and idled good for a minute then rough, backfired and oil began leaking, from the resevoir, I could hear it backing up into the resevoir. If you take the dipstick off, it will leak out. I put 3 qts in the block and a half quart in resevoir. Any ideas?

Don't run it as is. You most likely overfilled it and you incorrectly filled it from the block.

Maybe, ... you can put 1/2 quart in the block and the rest goes in the tank. This is a dry sump engine.

You may want to consider draining it down and starting over. If not, drain the tank and let it sit for a few hours. Then check and see where you are at. All that oil has to go someplace.

Did you change the filter? Do you know what the capacity specification is for an oil change with filter?

Oil capacity
Periodic oil change 3.00 L (2.64 Imp qt, 3.17 US qt)
With oil filter cartridge replacement 3.20 L (2.82 Imp qt, 3.38 US qt)
Total amount 3.90 L (3.43 Imp qt, 4.12 US qt)
Oil tank capacity 2.70 L (2.38 Imp qt, 2.85 US qt)

One post will usually do the trick. If you want someone looking at a need for a fix quickly, this is the forum.
