2010 RS VECTOR GT LTX STOCK FOR NOW!
Hello guys my brother in law just bought a 11 vector mid season last year he hates the skis and stering any suggestions for a change he has stockers with 4" carbides.... We ride agressive on groomed trails..

thanks jdp

This can easily be fixed. On my '10 Vector GT, I put 96 studs down the middle and yanked the stock skags off and put on the Woody's Dooly's 4 inch carbides on. Thing handles like a dream!!!! I ride groomed trails aggressively also. If looking to save money, go with the dooly's only. Have a buddy with an '11 Vector with dooly's only 4", he has no complaints! Hope this helps.

I run 4.5" Studboy Deuce bars with the stock skis on my 05 Vector (no studs) and it handles well. I've also tried the Woody's which also improves handling but I prefer the deuce bars. Make sure the skis are toed out 3/8 to 1/2" total. If he decides to go with aftermarket skis the Curves work well for aggressive trail riding.

I'll add another recommendation for the 4.5" Studboy Deuce bars. Almost anything is an improvement over the stock runners, but these are the best I've experienced so far on the stock skis.

For stock ski's, You can use, snowtracker, Cobra heads, Bergstrum Triple points, or shaper bars with half pipe modification. These seem to be some of the best options

Do a search for each one and be prepared to read.

Aftermarket ski's, take your pick on brand and do a search , ton's of write up's

Shim your ski's at the back!, get the preload off.
I run one single 4 inch and one 4 inch duely. No steds. I run my duely on the other side from my buddy , that way we don't track each other.

Thanks guys how do you shim the skis..... I was also leaning twards some dullies! Thanks guys

Read posts in here plus do searches (I find google easier) then take it from there.
I am currently running Curve ski's and like them a lot but due to my discovery of a couple bent a-arms and a spindle that more than likely didn't stay true while riding, I can't give them a fair review.

Both a-arms and spindle bolts have been replaced plus I have a set of Bergstrom Triple points coming so I have no doubts that it should rail now.

Also, like what was mentioned above, make sure your toe-out is bang on and make sure your front shock springs are set loose enough to almost make your a-arms level.

Good Luck.

Get some 1/16 flat stock , aluminum , inch wide or so , and some of that good double sided automotive tape (3m i think ,has red backer)
Cut your shim the width of your rubber on your ski. remove your ski and stick the aluminum piece to your ski under the rubber at the back. Thus tipping thefront of the ski up. set the sled on the cement garage floor. Look under the ski from the side and check out your handy-work. The front of the skag should be up off the floor. A little seems to go a long way.

Awsome thanks guys! I will try to talk him into keeping the stock skis shiming them and running some duce bars!

If you shim them your stearing will feel a little stiffer in the corners. I tried it and didn't like it. I don't like having to put effort into steering. It does work, don't get me wrong. Just have to use a little more muscle in the turns. I ride with with one double down runner on the right ski and a woodys dually on the left ski. Its perfect and no push. If you run two woodys duallys you will have resistance and lose top end speed. Deuce bars you do not lose top end but steering is a little harder. In either setup darting is gone. Its all trial and error. You have to see what you like. I'am picky so I spent alot of money after riding alot of setups over the seasons in all conditions.
