Hi all,

Was talking to a friend of mine who just bought a venture light (used, not new) and he was mentioning how he would like to lower
the engagement rpm.

I know they make a kit for my nytro and would like to know if one is also available
for the venture lights or if something else can be done (changing springs/rollers....)

Thanks

I think someone makes one that reduces the engine braking but can't rember who. I would think to change ingagment rpm he just needs to find a less poundage primary spring not a whole clutch kit.

Get a hold of BombaPolaYama. I think he put in what's called a Clutch Comfort Kit. If you look these up for a Phazer, they're a direct bolt in to the Venture Lit/MP except possibly for adjustments to the engagement RPMs.

Alright,

I guess my best bet is to do a little more research, doesn't seen like a very popular mod.

Thanks Mooseman I'll try to get ahold of him and get his thoughts on that kit.

I really lked the clutch kit but I also installed the SBM helix (stage 2 I believe it was called) which really made the VL more responsive and fun. So I can't really comment on the comfort clutch being used alone (It consisted of wts for the primary and a spring). Anyway my secondary disintegrated due to C-clip breaking and I changed out the secondary to a one w/o the c-clip. I'd suggest talking to the guy from SBM and he'll set you up with a combination to lower your engagement for smoother take-off. Sorry I can't recall how much of a diff it made in engagement RPMs but it was helpful. Ulmer also makes stuff for the Phazer but the last time I talked with him he hadn't done any testing on the VL.

From what I've read, you MUST replace the c-clip on the secondary whenever it's taken apart. And the "sharp" edge has to be pointed out.

Yes I learned the hard way but I think even the news ones have broken - one guy with a Phazer has had really bad luck. Poor design in any case.

I always use new clips and broke 2 within 500 kms of eachother. First one took out my jackshaft bearing and needed to buy a new clutch assembly. the second time I went with an vector clutch.

I think the problem I had was over revving. I had started playing around with my clutch settings that year. Previous 8000kms clutch was flawless.
