Hello all its been a while since I visited the site. I took my 2010 MP out today and it is misfiring with no codes on the display. So I drained the fuel put fresh in and new spark
Plugs went out as soon as it got a little warm missfiring again. Will a bad coil set a fault code any ideas of what to check?

If you removed the airbox at all, did you reconnect both vacuum sensors? I forgot one once and it ran like crap. A bad coil would nit throw a code as it has no way of detecting a misfire.

Hello Mooseman, I took the air box off and inspected all the hose the maps sensors hoses are attached. I believe it is a bad coil. I sea foamed the fuel went for another run last night and ran perfect for 5-10 mins and back to missfiring more so under load. It idles and starts great but I once warm no good, coil must be breaking up. I will buy a coil and do the swap till I find what coil is NG. To bad I have to remove the fuel tank to access the coils, but I have a 50% chance of replacing the right coil the first time.

Whatever you do, do not buy an aftermarket coil. They are know to be of poor quality and either do not work out of the box or fail shortly after.

Check the plugs while you're there and replace them if they have lots of miles on them. If one seems off colour, it could be the one with the bad coil.

Thanks for the heads up on the aftermarket coils. I put new plugs in first and problem still exists. Went through the diagnostic mode both coils fire the same. But like I have experienced on the automotive side coil is only breaking up under load and warm. Too dad it doesn't set a misfire code. I Will replace cylinder 2 with a new coil and try it out. If it still occurs put the new coil in cyl 1. Are these could known to fail ? Only 2090miles on the sled.

These don't have a high failure rate but it has happened to others. Mine has 14k Km, no failures.

I have not up dated to what corrected the misfire as parts have still not come in from the dealer. Any one else having problems getting parts over the holidays? Been 2 weeks on a rush order.

i have same problem with venture lite what parts are to be replaced

There are two types of rush orders; those for them and those for other people, which doesn't cost as much. I used to have a good dealer that got me parts within a day. He was too good, bought out by another bigger dealer.

Most parts should be available unless it's something rarely ordered and it needs to be shipped from Japan. What's the part(s)?

It is the ignition coil I am waiting on. 2 years ago when I ordered the low snow wheel kit and sliders it took 2 weeks as well, that being said it was the end of the season.

It's a common part. Shouldn't be too much longer.

changed mine today but still misfires after warming up dealer tells me recall on wiring harness could be the issue so going in this week they do recall free so i ll you know what they come up with

Venture lite, What year is your Venture? And I think the recall is for a ground that can get burned and if it is the dealer replaces the harness, and ground block.
