i noticed a vibration on my grizzly in the past couple weeks.i jacked it and had the wheels turning to see if something was wrong. i noticed the front differential shaft was wobbling more than it should be.when i looked closer i could see a little bit of the spline on the motor side, as if the drive shaft was too short .i slid the cv boots to see if there was grease and everything was ok.my brother's got the same bike as me so we checked on his and he's got a lot less freeplay on his drive shaft. what could be the problem, im thinking maybe a cv joint is stuck, could that be possible

you should lube both ends of the shaft.

i did lube the one end to see if it would slide better,it did but the other end comes out. im not too familiar with those cv joints . still need help

Its really a piss poor design, Mine makes some noise when Im locked in 4x4 with the diffs. locked but other wise never noticed a problem. Replaced the pinion seal on my front diff and wasnt real impressed with the front drive shaft set-up. Been looking into changing out the shaft and slide couplings for a bolt in unit.

just took everything apart wich was easier than i thought.the spline in both couplings were very dirty and pluged up,i had to scrape them so the shaft would slide all the way down, applied some white grease and put it back together. almost no vibration now. the splines on the shaft show a bit of wear but i'll ride it like this for this season.anybody knows the price on this unit, and i wonder if you change the shaft,do you have to change the couplings too.
Thanks, "I think" for pointing out another area I need to address.
I'd seriously consider going to bicycles if these things weren't so much fun.
