any preference? I cannot find a skinz mounted with good enough pics. Can you folks post some viper bumper pics? Angles ? Will the skinz give in more than oem. I.e. is there some collapse rooms in case of ice ball strike or any non tree or sled hits? Thanks guys. I left he race werksbumper out. I don't like the look or price. Looks uncomfortable if you ever needed to lift up off it

I just got mine in. I have the OEM. Not mounted yet. It is light. I think it will be fine. $160 shipped from Honda East.

I just got it on. I really like how rigid it is and it is super light. It took about a 1/2 hour to install so it wasn't that bad. I haven't riveted on the plastic skid plate yet because I think I'm going to paint it white

Looks like a nice bumper I'm not bashing here but why did they use plastic at the most vulnerable impact point on front of the bumper?

X2. Great looking bumper but I would be concerned about spearing a limb through the plastic plate. I once saw a video where a 1/2" twig stopped an XTX in its tracks. Popped the side panel clip off and everything. Took several guys to recover the sled.
I have the Yami sport bumper and like the looks of the Skinz better. Just wish they would make the protection plate out of aluminum even if it is a separate piece.

I heard that story, I think it just a old folklore story about that 1/2 inch twig stopping a XTX. You probably believe in Bigfoot too.......

The skid plate is 1/4" thick so it's not chintzy.... It protects a lot more that the factory grab bar...Looks like a nice bumper I'm not bashing here but why did they use plastic at the most vulnerable impact point on front of the bumper?

You are right about that. The skid plate is 1/4" thick so it's not chintzy.... It protects a lot more that the factory grab bar...

I don't think YamahaGuys is questioning your choice, he's just pointing out that the plastic skid plate is in the worst place for a front impact from say, a log or stump. If you have seen any of their videos, they ride off trail in the trees mostly, and protection of the nose of the sled is primary concern. We are talking big trees, logs, and occassional stumps. If that kind of protection isn't a concern, go Skinz all the way. Skinz makes great stuff and I put their bumper on the Phazer because I like they way it looks in addition to the protection.
Your right, much better than stock whatever that thing they call a bumper is, but could be better. If you go Skinz, just be aware of the plastic skid plate at the bottom.
Still a nice looking piece

Yup I completely agree I've seen your guys videos and there awesome! The only time my sled sees off trail its in a field or in a clearing not in the middle of the woods like you guys haha. It's really rugged bumper by the looks but like you said it's only downfall is if a strong stick lands just right in the middle of it but I think you would have to jump and land on one or really be moving and hit something to break through it... I was really surprised with how light it is, holding both the skinz must only weigh a couple ounces more than the stock grab bar

It looks different from the oem ones I have seen. Yours actually looks like you can grab it and lift, some others look like you can't get your hand in thereView attachment 110367View attachment 110368View attachment 110369

Just by grabbing it on the lift it seams pretty easy to find a spot to grab it but I can't actually test it until it's back together and off the lift. My hands fit in nicely in all the spots between the braces. It looks different from the oem ones I have seen. I had the Skinz front bumper...Needless to say I did not like it! Took it off and went with the Racewerx and love it....IMHO the Racewerx is the way to go...
