My clutches seem louder than the Nytro. But it may be cause of the different panel vents.. definitely louder at slow speed and "clears" up as speed increases..
Ya that's how mine is, clutches are noisy at low speeds but get quieter once rpms increase.. Anyone figure a way to get the clutches a bit quieter?

I hear metal rattling at low speeds also- no sound at idle nor when accelerating hard, nor at higher speeds. I hope its the clutch and will not be a bother!!

Ya sounds like mine, it's super annoying!! On my nitro I just had a noisy clutch when it would be idling, but as soon as you started moving it was fairly quiet, this viper clutch is loud and rattles a lot at low speeds and is driving me nuts. When cruising through a gas station or an intersection people look at you like your brand new sled is about to start falling apart.

Mine is not that loud. Maybe yours is the exhaust shield o6.

Mine rattles the same at low speed them cleans up as soon as you get moving. Sounds like a rattling heat shield to me, have not investigated.

I think some of these guys may have a cracked heat shield. I know you are just kidding and Yamaha clutches have always been noisy but if shield is cracked it needs to be replaced. Definitely inspect VERY common.

It's not the clutches, definately a heat shield or similar. It's triggered by a certain engine oscillation and vibrates.

Are you talking about the heat shield that's wraps around the header, that you have to take the gas tank off to get at?

Yes.Look at the bend right side where it starts going upward. That corner and where it mounts to the side brace.

Nytro doesnt have all the vents for noise to come out like Viper. With covers off both the clutches sound same.
