2015 Yamaha SR Viper XTX
im wondering if anyone has any idea whats making my 2015 XTX misfire at full throttle. Im not very good with engines, and apparently niether is the mechanic that i deal with. But when i mash on it off the hop it skips/misses and same when im trying to reach my top speed. Will try and take a video later today to demonstrate the problem, just wondering what you guys think? Sled is bone stock other then an OSP can

I believe it's around 9200rpm. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
If it has the original 15 factory tune, then yes 9200, 14's were 9150, the last 2 yamaha flashes brought it up to 9250 and now 9300, wish they would just set it at 9400 like the nytro's had it.

If you put a OSP muffler on and did change the clutching then l am positive you are hitting rev limiter!

Need to add some weight to it !

I had broke a clutch spring and the dealer put a new one in, not sure if they put the stock one back on or not, this was after i put the exhaust on it, just tooke it for a ride and sometimes it cuts out at 8800 sometimes 9150, could be just the track spinning tho, so if i add weight to it, that means it wont rev as high?

How do I check the rpm recall?

On your gauge there's 2 buttons on the right and two on the left. So let's say u have your rpm read out on the left..u press and hold the top left button for 2-3 seconds, this will display the max rpm the sled reached. If rpm is displayed on the right then press and hold top right button. Max rpm on the recall will be higher than max rpm indicated/seen on the dash. Also, it will only show max rpm for that period while the sled is running, if you wish to check it again you'll need to turn the sled off to reset it. Also check what primary spring you have, they're color coded, stock I believe is blue silver blue? The spring just has 3 colored dots on it. If they put in a spring other than stock it may be making the issue worse if the spring is too stiff and causing too high of rpm.

I too have this issue and thought it was a miss also. Is there a way to tell what flash I have without taking it to a dealer? Mines a 14.

Also is the latest flash a good one? I’ve heard horror stories about starter kickbacks after the 14 flash. I’d love to get rid of this issue, And how much should one expect to pay for a dealer Reflash? I also am running a PCV.

Eric, you should take the time to read the top Sticky. It's all about the various flashes and has a ton of info about how it effects your sled. To me the most important thing is that the flashes are done to protect your engine from real damages caused by kick back on starting. My sled was out of warranty and my dealer flashed it for free. They don't want your sled to chew itself up!

Latest flash still has limiter at 9250, seeing 9288 max recall after hitting rev limiter
