I have about 860 miles on my viper. Took it in for the service at 500 miles and everything was a ok. Now my question is weather or not I could do any preventative matinence to the sled at this time. What have some of you guys had to do to your sled that maybe could have been prevented if checked? Nothing is wrong with the sled at all, just checking to see if there's something I could work on to keep the miles going up, instead of being blind sided with mechanical failure and being stuck somewhere!

Ride my friend! Enjoy the rest of your season. You'll find something to tinker with when the snow is gone.

If its not broke don't fix it......

Ride and read past the first couple pages.
Winter is gone soon. :(

Yes ride it. As long as they addressed any coolant leaks and Loctited/tightened all your Pyramid support bolts you are good to go. Come spring and next oil change time grease all the bearings you can and get it ready for next season. Mod it then. Now is time to ride the heck out of it!

Last season i put 2800 miles on my sled.
All I did was change the oil at 500 miles.
Checked chain tension twice. Once at 300 miles(3 turns loose). Once at 1000 miles. Tension was fine after.
Tried different ski/carbide combinations.
Added a clutch kit.

Basically the sled was flawless all season. Turn key operation.
